Can I get your opinions on this?

We were given a couple of opening dates for Storybook Circus and then it unceremonioiusly opened in mid-March (yay!). As I understood it, that was not the "official" opening but a soft opening, but for all intents and purposes, it was opened. Like everyone else, I found out about in on Facebook.

So, here's my question. Do you think the bulk of the FLE, which we are told will open during the "holiday season," will open like Storybook Circus, with a soft opening just happening out of nowhere or will be get some notice for the soft opening (if there is one) and then the grand opening?

I'm slightly obsessed with the idea of getting down there the day after it opens (since the day of is unrealistic from NC). I know, I'm a nerd. :)

There were a few days notice on the Storybook Circus "soft open" because there were several posts on here about it a head of time

I'm curious what exactly "Holiday Season" means, because the Christmas decoration go up the week after Halloween, that's kinda vague :D

They'll probably have a certain date when they get closer to being done with Mermaid and Beast's castle. My guess is it'll be an official ceremony with the singers of Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid singing a tune and ribbon cutting.

Will they let people ride Mermaid before...

Hmm...not sure how much of an "opening" they will do -- recently Disney has been rolling out expansions like this as they are ready (Pixarland in paris, etc).

The reality is, FLE won't be completed and it will still look like its under construction even when they open parts of it later this year ---not the type of "photo opportunity" things disney likes to do...

Do you mean the Seven Dwarfs or do you think there will be other unfinished areas when they open the majority of the expansion?

Disney doesn't often do big opening parties or anything these days. Star Tours was an exception, because they wanted it to be part of the event of SWW, even when the ride had been operational in the weeks prior.

It seems to me with the staggered openings, they may do some ceremony as someone mentioned above - but it's likely a lot of the things will already be in operation by the time they do so, I would think.

I personally could see them opening it up about when the halloween stuff comes down. Somebody will post on here "o boy guys I heard from my CM friends' uncles brothers daughter who was talking to a CM who is goin in for training tomorrow to work in the Little Mermaid ride/serve at Beauty and the Beast. They say it should be open in two weeks!"
And then it'll open in like a week.
Basically I think theres no way we won't get at least a few days advanced notice.

im hoping it will be open in october when we go but im not holding my breath! Some times disney just opens it with very little notice. my own guess is that they are saying it will open later than it actually will!

The good news is that Chris Beatty said the scaffolding is coming down on mermaid in the next few weeks at the hard hat walk through. That's a good sign.

ya that is a good sign. I think disney just estimated a late date because of all the construction. although it could be done they have some construction around it that its hard to wal through. thats why they are waiting i bet. i think they will suprise :) they always do!
