Can I assign my hoppers to someone else?

in 1995 I bought 5 day hoppers, used only 2 days. A few years later went back and used 1 day ( I had to get new cards). This was before the fingerprint scanning. 2013 went back and turned in the old cards for the new ones but didn't get to use them. So I still have 2 days on them. Those cards were never assigned to any particular name cuz it wasn't being done then. Can I give them to my family member to use the remaining days? (When I went to downtown Disney in 2013 to switch the tickets, they never asked for an id or name, they simply gave me the new version of the tickets and they told me I still had 2 days on them). i thought about linking the cards and assigning their names to it. Will this work?

As long as they were never used during the finger scanning era, and they haven't been assigned to a MDE profile, you shouldn't have any problems assigning them to someone else. *Technically* they're supposed to be used by the same person, but as you said, there's really no way of knowing who that original person was.

And does the picture of the character on the card make a difference? For example I have a Mickey, Minnie, and Donald. Does the Donald have to be assigned to a male?

Not at all. They just print out a rotating set of designs to help groups/families tell different tickets apart.

thank you so much for your help everyone. My son and his family are going and i want to save them some money. I don't plan to go back for a long time so why not give it to them. in fact one of the tickets is originally his from 19 years ago. i just wanted to make sure so they do not have to experience any problems.

They could actually probably take those tix with two days on them and add more days to those tickets to really save a boatload (over using the two tickets and then buying brand new tix).

Unfortunately, pre-MYW tickets cannot be upgraded or changed in any way. They can only be used as-is (changing them onto modern ticket media if necessary).

Even if you have a newer MYW ticket, once you start using it you cannot add or change the days or options on the ticket after the first 14 days, even if you've bought the No Expiration option.
