Can chef Mickey cook dinner?

I still can't decide between an elegant dinner at narcoossee's or a fun (and cheaper) dinner at Chef Mickey's on our first night.

We have a 9 PM chef Mickey reservation and I am expecting atrocious cafeteria style food- dry meat, stale fish, etc. Is anything there delicious?

If you go in expecting it to be bad, why go in? Pick something you have not already formed an opinion on and enjoy it. For us, the best is BOMA, but Chef Mickey is good too, except for the cafeteria style food with all the dry meat and stale fish.

We do the breakfast, haven't done dinner in several years. Two good things about dinner is the mashed potatoes and the dessert choices. Everything else is pretty marginal

Agreed! And why I've got breakfast vs. dinner booked! It may not have all of the desserts, but who cares when I'm having cake delivered for breakfast! :D

We hadn't been there for dinner in years but decided to try it again last September because its such an easy trek from the WL by boat. I don't think any of us were disappointed nor did any one leave hungry. As @DisneyDebNJ said, the parmesan mashed potatoes are wonderful and the desserts are very tasty. They had several meat, fish and vegetable offerings as well as a couple different pastas, soups and a salad section. By the look of the people waiting in line and those already there, business is not suffering even if the food is not the best.

Why would you want a mouse touching your food?
JK :)

If your only interested in it for the Charecter experience I would say go for it, otherwise head downstairs to the Wave for an amazing meal.

We are also doing le cellier, flying fish, Hollywood brown derby, and jiko on our trip. Narcoossee's is for the beautiful location on our first night.
WOW! A Signature Feast!:D
I'd go w/ romantic over the Chef Mickeys thing. It's 9pm. It's Wishes...;)
Dinner @ CM is a typical buffet. Nothing special. The desserts are good though ( geared towards kids of course).;) The characters though are fantastic!:D

If your desire is food, then go for breakfast. Dinner is not very good; however you could land a nice view of Wishes which makes up for the below par food.

Also even with reservations, expect to wait at least 20mins to be seated.

We always eat dinner at Chef Mickeys on our first night. It is a great way to start the trip and see all of the favorite characters. The food is quite good for a buffet.
