I am still trying to figure out if this is really a good deal for us or not. If AP rates come out for our dates, I may switch but I am curious to know exactly how it works. I have a package booked for Aug 29-Sept 1 for myself and my 7 y/o DD at Pop Century. I am taking her down to see the Wiggles:lookaroun I have never stayed at Pop or any Value resorts before--we usually stay at PO..Hopefully I will not be dissapointed! Anyway, I understand you get 1 sitdown, 1 counterservice & 1 snack a day. Since we will be arriving Tues night & leaving Fri morning, we will only have 2 full days there. Can the vouchers be used for future travel if they are not all used? Also, is there a list somewhere that shows what snacks you can get? My DD is very picky and doesnt even eat ice cream much--she would much rather get a bag of Mickey Pretzels:slurp:

Thanks! This board is my place to get info--I am continuously let down by the information that the CMs have & give!:hammer:

I am really hoping for AP rates!

The free dining plan needs to be booked as a package. That means, room/tickets/food. You cannot book this with an AP discount.
We booked it for August 13-18, as it really is a great deal, and we get to try places we wouldn't normally eat at.

The new snacks have not been ofically confirmed by Disney yet, so I wouldn't count on that yet. And, your dining credits expire on Midnight of your last day (the day you check out)

Here's a list of participating resturants and their menu's:

Pop is fine, I've stayed there a few times and besides this is a quickie trip, so don't fret it, you're still on property after all with all the benefits. The free dining is a good deal because you are going to have to eat anyway and this gives you an opportunity to do some meals where she might want to go that you wouldn't otherwise do. I have found that the difference between the AP rate (if it comes out) and the package rate is about what you would spend in food.

Also, in booking the package you do have to buy tickets with it, but you can buy the one day base ticket for each of you and either save it and use it at another time or it you are going to be down at WDW when it is time to renew your AP, you can take both days and apply the credit towards the renewal AP's, but for this option you must do this in person.

I suggest you contact Kingdom Konsultants and they will be able to help you out.

I'm not going to WDW anytime soon  but, I have a quick question. If you get your tickets with the no expiration do you still lose any leftover credits? Thanks.

Disney Dining plan is based upon the number of nights you stay at a Disney resort hotel, not the number of days worth of tickets that you buy.

I recently asked the following hypothetical: If I was to buy a 10 day ticket (better price break) but only 4 days of hotel stay, would I be able to add up to 6 more days of hotels stay at a later date so that I could enjoy the disney dining plan? I was told No. I wasn't very happy about the answer. It was explained that the tix, room and dining plan is a package deal and must be used in concert.

I hope this helps. By the way, the dining plan is the best thing going....especially if its free!

Another thing....Dole Whip Floats rock!

oH, COOL..I didnt know you could apply the tickets to purchase an AP. How do I do that? Just at guest relations? That may be the thing for me to do since my current AP expires in July.

I thought the tickets that come with the package have an expiration so how could you save it to use at a later date?

You would have to go to guest relations to renew your passes and it would have to be within the renewal period time frame. You couldn't renew your pass in say January for a July renewal. And as ypcat said, you just don't use the ticket. Tickets expire 14 days after first use and since you will not be using it, not a problem.

Also, maybe you daughter would like to have a meal at Cinderella's Royal table which is now 2 sit down points and since you said when you get there your having cs that night, so you could very well do a 2 point meal.
