I just read on another board that AE will be closing October 12 for a rehab. In its place COP and Timekeeper are going to be opened on a daily basis. Does anyone know if this is true? We love COP but since we travel off season we never get to catch it anymore. Thanks for any info you can give!:)

Yup its going down and will become a stich based ride. Most everything will be the same inside the ride just now stich gets lose. Stuff like the seats will all be the same withc meens the hight requirment will still be the same. So smaller kids still won't be able to ride even with the new theme. Still don't know if that cat walk seen will still be done yet. But total down time will be about a month or so. I am told everything should be running by December but I think you all know how these things go.

Also CoP will be brought up as well as time keeper to help out the balace.

Also this has pushed back Space Moutains rehab back to Jan or even father back.

You mention it should only be closed for a month or two??

And on the main page is says almost a year, although the dates are drastically different.

If this does happen in Oct, I at least hope its open for December. If they aremt changing too too much, it shouldnt be down for so long.:xmas:

This rumour has been around since Lilo and Stitch came out, but has gathered more pace of late.

One things for sure, WDW aren't saying anything. Guest Services claim to know nothing about it and there have been no announcements.

I'd like to do 'classic' AE one more time and, to this end, I hope these rumours are false.

Isecond what you said exactly. Guest services "knows nothing". I, too wanna do AE one more time. But more importantly, I want my 9 year old daughter to do it before she loses any opportunity. We're there in December, so hopefully, it's still open.

This seems to be the running rumor now since EE was made public and M:S is up and running. I have heard for years they are going to shut it down cause it is to scary....still open. And now for the past 2 years the Stitch rumor has been running around but until I see Skippy out looking for work and S.I.R packing his bags this is just another rumor. I am going in November and I have checked every thing short of calling Uncle Mike in Burbank and no one has said that it is going down except a few cast members. I was once a cm also and I remember hearing from my higher ups things were changing that never happened. So I am not saying they are wrong but I sure as heck hope they are!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for their quick responses. I guess I'm more concerned with whether COP will actually be opened when we get there in a little over 3 weeks. We love that attraction and haven't seen it in 3 years due to cuts. Hopefully it will be open.

You know what, these are probably the same CM's who perk up every 9 months or so to tell us that the Star Tours redo is 'starting next month' or 'just about to happen.'

Maybe I'm just getting cynical in my old age but puuuuulllllleeeeeeeaaaaassssseeee!

I am going to apologise first, but being from the UK I think I can use it as an excuse, but can some body tell me what is CoP I've been trying to wrk it out for weeks I've even dug out park maps to try to work it out, I'm really sorry to be dumb about this but it's driving me mad :hammer:

Your answer had already been given, but just wanted to let you know it is not just you. I have trouble with acronyms too. I can handle the ones that 2 or 3 letters mostly but there was one in another post that was 5 or 6 letters I had not clue.

Ask Guest Services today about it. It closes on Saturday 10/11 for sure. You will be told that. The big announcement for the new attraction will be at the press event. It will not open until Fall of 2004. As for COP and TimeKeeper...they will remain seasonal "dependant upon Guest demand."

"Do" it soon!

My sources are me! :)

I want CoP to be open when I go down (December 4-11)!! I haven't seen it in ages. But I could care less about AE going down. I went on that a few years ago (I was probably 12 or 13) and it made me cry, it was so terrifying!! Maybe I'm a wuss, lol. :D

This is indeed tragic news... :( I propose a moment of scilence for skippy, sir, chairman clench, and the rest of the AE cast who will all be missed.

Thanks for the replies at last i can sleep at night, I've never seen carousel of progress!!! I'm going to Floida in 2 days time so will it be open? I would have posted earlier about the name but some people seem to get a bit touchy if people repeat questions etc. Thanks again!

ONLY 2 DAYS UNTIL I SEE MICKEY!!!!!!!!! :sohappy:

(After a 5 hr drive and 10 hr flight, but it's worth it!!)
