Camera You Bring?

So my old digital Canon is starting to die on me, it actually takes AA batteries, which I did not know was a rare thing but is, and it must have a short or something because even when fresh ones are put in the camera claims they are dying. So I bought a new Nikon Coolpix S3300 for what seems to be a steal at under 80. I considered something flashier but I need something easy, small and for Disney! Which means if it got damaged on a ride or something I would not be heartbroken since the price was nice. What kind of camera do you guys rock at Disney?

I carry a Canon Rebel XS DSLR, plus a couple of lenses. It was the entry level model back in 2010 or 2009 when I was shopping around. It may be bulky, but I love not having the kind of delay you usually experience with a point & shoot...which is a huge plus when kids are a big part of your vacay pics. I'm hoping to upgrade to a different model in the next couple of years...at least something with a better ISO range.

I got a Canon Rebel for Christmas and am still learning to use it, but look forward to using that. Since the iPhone allowed me to take a camera in my phone, I've been using that. But I did used to have a Cool-pix that I took around on occasion. It was decent and small. This Rebel thing is gigando.

I carry my Canon DSLR all the time in the parks. The point and shoot is great to fit in your pocket but not great when you need a quick shot or multiple shots quick.

I have the same camera! I had to quote it since it's not the most well-known of the EOS Rebel line and I never see people mention it. If I bring my full bag, then I bring my kit lens (18-55mm), Nifty Fifty, 60mm macro and 55-250mm telephoto along too. I want to upgrade the body too. I'm thinking the T4i maybe with the 18-135STM lens. I'd also like more ISO but additionally, video as well.

Last trip I brought a few cameras. One was a Sony Cyber-Shot its small and easy to carry. Then we have our phones which have cameras in them. Another was a Nikon D200 with a 18-135mm lens. The Nikon was a friend that let me borrow it for the trip so do not have that no more. For my next trip I will be bringing my Canon 60D with a few lenses.

Ive done WDW with a point and shoot, a dslr, and on my last trip I used only my samsung galaxy nexus cell phone. Not having to lug around a camera was awesome for me personally...and I made a whole photobook on shutterfly with only cell phone photos and everyone thinks they are from our "good" cameras until I tell them. A lot of the newer phones have pretty darn good picture taking abilities...but youre not going to get very good bokeh on a cell phone;-)

If you want to see my disney photobook thats entirely made of cell phone shots feel free to check it out

We have a Cannon Rebel we have used in the past but it is getting older. It is a 10 megapixel. So we got a new point and shoot that is a 16megapixal, so we are taking both on the next trip and will compare the pics when we get back.

I have pretty much retired my digital camera...

so I bring down a whole slew of heavy, light, and cheap cameras. I'll load up some film each day and almost do a blind pick.

Mamiya RB67 (medium format - heavy but will outshoot the best digital SLR on the market)
Holga 35mm (plastic 35mm, cheap... you never know what you're going to get)
Holga Fisheye 2 (see above)
Olympus 35 SP Rangefinder (my grandfathers from 1960, awesome... period)

I long ago stopped lugging my dSLR to any theme park, or almost any vacation, to be perfectly honest. I now bring my Sony RX-100 in my pocket and it creates photos that are completely indistinguishable from dSLR shots, even with great lenses and large apertures...theres a place for my dSLR (a D800 right now) but its not on vacation.

I feel you... especially with some of the glass I have. The 70-200 VRII might be one of the sharpest and fastest AF lens on the market but it's massive, weighs a ton, and barely fits in any of my bags. Even my 85 1.4 is a little big for me these days. But you're talking to a guy who is going backwards with technology, I now value the journey of creating images as much as I do the final product.

I am saving some cash though for a new toy and honestly, hopefully my last. Mamiya 7II. It's about the same cost of the a new RX1 but it's MF 120, which for the price is the best image quality you can find. It's a hell of a lot more than my RB67 but it's WAY smaller.

There's something I hate about an LCD screen, I now wait for that package to come in the mail and instantly spark up my light table. Film sales are on the rise for the 1st time in 10 years as a new generation of digital only kids start to grow up.

How do you like that RX100 by the way? I was holding it a few days ago and boy is that small, the zeiss is nice in it.
