camera swapping

do the cm's allow camera swapping for attractions that r to wild to bring along. I thought i could take some of my kids to ride and leave my husband with the camera gear and when we were done riding my husband could swap the camera gear to me while he rode with some of the kids. i guess this would work if the ride left and returned in the same place.i know they have some pretty wet water rides...which we didn't go on last time as the lines were sooooo long.can u leave them with the cast members???

otherwise i guess we could just lock them up in lockers and take time out of the day to record and take pictures but that seems like such a pain to go back & forth...

suggestions?
thanks

I have never heard of this before. It would not be fair because your kids would get to ride twice without waiting in line twice. I would think the cm might hold your camera equipment for you so it wouldn't get wet. Or, they might let your husband wait until you got off to ride, but he would have to ride alone. IMO Personally, I don't bother with too much expensive camera stuff while at the parks. I want to watch my children enjoying themselves and see all of the attractions through my own eyes and not a lens. I usually just take a compact zoom (Yashica!) in a camera case, and stick it in my baby bag or fammy pack.

i take my SLR in all the rides. on rockin roller coaster they dont even notice, it wont hurt your camera. but on the wet rides, like splash mountain when you see your going down a hill, just put it below spot in front of you, where the bar is.

I always have my camcorder with me and hubby has the camera, the girls have thier own cameras ..never had a problem on the rides with them .. I use an igloo soft side cooler bag for my camcorder, tapes and battieries. this keeps everything dry inside. I have also put it in one of those big ziplock bags for extra protection from getting wet.

thanks everyone... r camera isn't huge but is a SLR which is bigger than a compact and wouldn't fit in r packs! r camcorder is small and we might just purchase a smaller soft sided cooler and put in a ziplock bag for extra protection.... good idea...

2much2do: I think u might of misunderstood my intentions for camera swapping. r kids would not be riding twice... my husband would ride with the first 2 and when he returned I would ride with the 3rd 1. R kids just love watching themselves on video. I take very short segments and don't spend alot of time watching everything around me "through the eyes of a lens"... i know alot of people that do though, but i want to enjoy myself too. it's also fun to come home after visiting the world and 2 months later pop in the video... it's like enjoying your vacation all over again...

I was pleasently surprized last year at Bush Garden Willamsburg. Cast members would come and take your bags or whatever and hold them for you as you rode the roller costers. They were very helpful about it, never acted as it was going out of the way for you, it was why they were there. I really liked that. I have never seen this happen the same way or as often at any WDW park. But then again I have never asked for it. I was very common at BG. Has anyone else ever seen this kind of sytem at any other parks? (I get the feeling Ceader Point would not be this friendly and helpful, but hey maybe I am wrong.)
