I am in need of a new camera, something that is good for night pictures at WDW, I am on a low budget so can anyone recommend a digital camera for under $200 that is good for night pictures. All previous visits I never get good night shots, need to next trip in November especially being it will be my son's first birthday(probably be sleeping in most anyway).
Thanks

I'm sure there's better ones out there, but I love love love my Olympus Stylus 1010. It's usually around $250, but you can find good sales for it. I got it for $150. It's simple to use, but it still has lots of manual settings to play around with.

As lots of people will tell you, night shots are all about trial and error. You can take decent night shots with almost any camera, but you need to figure out how the camera works. Try to put it down on something (a trash can, for example) to reduce camera shake, which is what causes blur.

You can see the difference between my last camera and the Olympus I linked to in my 2008 (old) and 2009 (new) links in my signature. They're not wonderful, but they're good enough for me since I'm too lazy (and cheap) to learn how to use an SLR.

We have had Fuji FinePix for our last two cameras. I like the first one so much I bought the upgraded newer one before our last trip. It is a FujiFilm FinePix S8100fp. 18x optical zoom with lots and lots of picture settings to play with - sunset, fireworks, night, landscape, flower, beach, snow, many many more. Multiple frame rapid shot for action pictures. Many many features. I paid $232 for this camera. I did my research and checked several locations, but ended up buying it off Ebay as a 'new' (not refurb) camera from and ebay store. We were very pleased with it, but I wish I had put some more time into playing with the special features at night to know which were the best settings to take the pictures on, but I liked what we got and I know more about it now. Like I said this is the second one we have had (just upgraded, the first did not break or anything) and I would highly recommend it. Enjoy your trip!!

Without getting a DSLR, for lowlight capabilities (and a generall all-around good camera), you'll probably be happy with the Fuji f60. $160 at Amazon. The Fuji fXX series has always been considered one of the best P&S cameras for nighttime shooting. The f60 also has stabilization now. One of the reasons it is so good is that the actual sensor is much larger than your typical P&S - a big advantage when it comes to image quality.

But you'll have to excuse me while I go buy one - the more I look at this, it's a killer deal at Amazon.
