Calling Nero Experts

Help me please someone! I have a snazzy new computer, I want to make DVD of home movies. Nero is giving me a headache and I have spent wayyyyy to much time on trying to figure it out. I want my Disney stuff on DVD!! My main problem is trying to convert AVI to a format that Nero can burn ( ifo, vob, bub) I have read and read on the internet. My nero does not match the manual for that exact version on the web. Any help would be appreciated. My basic question, do I have to buy something else after spending a bundle on my comuter or can Nero convert/burn?

I usually use Nero to make SVCD / VCD so not sure about the DVD part. I use a MPEG converter to go from AVI to MPEG. Nero automatically converts it just prior to burning.

Again, not sure if this applies to DVD, but you may want to do a search for MPEG conversions.

huh? no!! I own the stuff (well, it came with the burner).

It was a childish joke that didn't work right. :lol:

It came with my new computer, who knew this would be so difficult. I just want some DVD's of my kids. Thanks for the tips.

The DVD feature on Nero, is used basically for DVD Back-up Files. I have no experience with transfering MPEG to BHO's, so i really dont know about that. I would like to Recomend using MyDVD for burning DVDs.

If you have video of your kids, the software you have to capture it to your PC may have the ability to burn to DVD.

I have made movie maker movies and saved as both .mswmm and .avi, nero says unexpected file format on both types, I need to convert to .ifo, .vob,.bup. I just dont want to spend any more Disney trip money on this blasted computer!!!! Thanks for the suggestions. I will keep searching for a way.

I would like to Recomend using MyDVD for burning DVDs.

That title came with my burner along with Nero. I've never used it, but will have to investigate.

Currently the only things I have burned to DVD have been my home videos edited and burned on Pinnacle Multi-Bugs...sorry Pinnacle Studio :lol:

I use ulead vides studio whic i'm happy with. I've used pinnacle studio 8 but it was way to bug ridden.
