My Hubby and I are thinking of moving to WDW area in a little under a year and DEFINATELY want Disney jobs.

Any recommedenations on where to live, etc?
Also, How hard is it to get a job on the Great Movie Ride? Though I'm up for any attractions, I'm really interested in that one, or doing conceirge work at some of the hotels.
Let me know! PM me if you like! Thanks!

Its hard to get any one attraction. Really it depends on if they need people. And even if they say you will be working there they might end up putting you somewhere else

The good news is that there is always cross-training...letting you work anywhere in the parks that has a opening like that. But if you want the movie ride ya got to wait till it has openings lol

But getting a attrations job in general is not to hard

As for housing, I was a CP so don't know. VISTA WAY ALL THE WAY!

Yeah. From what I've heard from full timers...its almost impossible to request something. I worked with a girl (who I woudn't doubt probably frequents these boards) who has been trying to cross train at the Haunted Mansion forever...over a year or two, at least. You pretty much have to know somebody to get what you want, or else wait a long time

Question: what do you currently do for a living?

Answers to your questions: It is not easy at all the go to a specific area. There isn't a conceirge for the Disney resorts, we have guest services in the hotels and guest service / relation positions are very hard to get. That said if you do want a life working at WDW great! I love working at WDW, I don't want to work anywhere else. However, it is a big business and you can tell you are working for a large than life company, but as long as you make it that way it is magical.

Answers for ya.

What I currently do for a living? I'm a CPC (certified professional coder) in the medical feild. Honestly, it makes a decent living but I HATE working in the medical feild. I think I could really make a career out of Disney where I'd want to stay. My hubby is doing jewlery sales currently. He hates it as well. We both love working with people and are huge Disney fans.

As for the other portion - we would get our own place and not rely on Disney housing (though I hear they help you out if you're relocating).

Keep the info coming! I wouldn't mind working any attraction! :) I'd make a great tour guide too. Eventually I want to get into entertainment, but I'm all for working my way into that.

guest services/ concierge really isn't that hard to get these days it seems. Guest Relations is because you have to be with the company for at least 6 months then go through professional recruitment when they post positions on JOBS. Just remember the pay is not really going to be that great. Also disney does not help out for relocating they have thousands of people that call and come into Casting weekly.

p.s. we do have concierge levels at the resorts. They are trully not a real concierges like in new york. But it is more personalized service.
