ex-cast member here, but things haven't changed much in regards to compensation since I was there. The pay is substandard compared to other companies in the field you will work in, both in hourly and salaried capacities. For raises and whatnot, in the hourly segment, they're generally based on seniority, with everyone getting paid the same based on seniority. For salaried, it is more traditional performance based raises.

As far as benefits, theirs are almost unbeatable. $2/week can get you full medical, dental, and vision coverage... Vista FCU is a very good credit union (just remember to read the fine print on EVERYTHING you sign!)... and free admission. That alone speaks to most people.

As far as to your experience, you can attempt to start off as management, but it is very hard to start off in a management position, and generally not much easier to move forward into one. How you will be treated varies greatly on where you work. I know CM's that love their jobs, love everything about it, and love how they're treated. Conversely, I know CM's that hate everything there is about Disney but hang on to the job due to the current uncertainty in the job market.

The best way to describe Disney is not as one company, but rather as many different companies under 1 executive. That will help you grasp the magnitude of how big Disney is.
