California Grill- Recent Visitor Experiences?

I've been a big fan of the California Grill restaurant at the Contemporary Resort for many years now since it opened. I've been at least a half dozeon times over the last few years and the experience has always been outstanding. I've referred many others to the restaurant and all have had very positive experiences in both service and food.

I was there last Thursday for an 8:10pm dinner and the experience was quite different from the past. It started with a delay of over 1 hour past our 'Priority Seating' request time made 3 weeks before. No information about a longer wait was presented when we arrived at all. When I finally began to loose my patience and went to check things out, there were 2 other parties in the same state and one had been waiting even longer than we had. They seemed thoroughly confused about what was going on, and not very capable of sorting things out. All I got was sort of a blank stare from someone not prepared to deal with things.

When we did finally sit down the server was quite efficient overall but the food, while cooked as requested had clearly been sitting somewhere for a while because it was not hot at all.

I guess since I hadn't been there in about 18 months or so I'm trying to find out if this is the quality of experience I should expect at this location now, or did I just hit them on a bad night?

We were there Christmas Eve. Everything went pretty smooth.
We didn't have any delay and the food arrived just fine.
Maybe it was just one of those nights.

We went back in late July and it was excellent as usual. I've always thought that the service there was very good but somewhat formal compared other restaurants on property. Thats not really a criticism so much as an observation.

I went in May to celebrate my girlfriend and I's 3rd anniversary and it was the worst dining experience I've had in my life. Long story short: We had PS at 8 PM, got there at 6:30 and sat down at about 9:45 PM; we had to sit on the floor against the wall b/c the wait area is TINY; people who were there at the windows when we arrived sat there with empty plates the entire time; the waitress was terrible; and finally the food was by far the worst thing I've ever had (and don't tell me I don't know food, I'm from Louisiana!).

I will not dine there any more after a couple embarrassing episodes with business guests.

Total disregard for PS times, slow service, no response to special event requests that were made long in advance and confirmed before hand, and bland room temperature food.

With all the other locations to choose from, why would I put myself, family, friends, or clients through that again!?!?!

It was never like that before and they took no action to correct the items I wrote to the manager about afterwards.
