Is there a dress code for California Grill? Are khaki shorts and a nice shirt appropriate? What about jeans with a nicer shirt/shoes? Thanks!

Either of those things would be completely acceptable. I tend to err on the more dressy side because I hate feeling even remotely underdressed, but for a signature restaurant, California Grill is actually pretty casual. You'll likely see a lot of families there that have just come from the Magic Kingdom and are in their park clothes. You may also see suits and cocktail dresses, but what you're describing is a happy medium.

I've done it in nice shorts and a tank or nicer t-shirt, but like it's been stated, I've seen everything sport coats and caual pants and dressy dresses, to park clothes.

Yes there is a dress code (it's Disney Business Casual in the Signature restaurants OUTSIDE of the parks) and yes either of those choices are fine.

DH brought pretty much the same clothing options when we went in August. I was steering him towards the khakis, but he opted for jeans and a nice shirt. He felt fine and there were definitely no issues with what he wore, but he definitely was one of the more casual ones in there that night.

I always wear a cute dress, just because I like to get dressed up. I always feel like going there is a special experience. My husband wears khaki's & a golf shirt & has always felt fine in that. I've seen people in all sorts of wear there, coming from the parks. We saw someone there in a Pens jersey during playoffs the one year - fine with us, as we're Pens fans! :)

When we go, my wife will wear a dress and I'll probably go with smart jeans / shirt. However, on our first ever visit we turned up straight from the park (shorts / t-shirts) and they were fine with it - although it's clearly not the look they're going for!

I'll be there in May, straight from the parks and attired in cargo shorts and polo shirt. I doubt there will be any problem.

Actually the cargo shorts might not fly...

Business Casual Dress Code

Attire considered appropriate by this dress code is:

• Dress shorts
• Dress pants
• Jean pants
• Collared shirts
• Blouses
• Sweaters
• T-shirts ... plain, no pictures or logos permitted

Attire not permitted by this dress code is:

• Hats
• Swimsuits
• Swimsuit cover-up's
• Tank tops
• Torn clothing
• Flip-flops

I want to say that while rubber flip flops are not allowed leather thong type sandals are

Yes, nice shorts - i.e. golf shorts (not loud plaid ones) do just fine.

Cargo shorts, well, I would not do it.

My rule of thumb. A shirt with some sort of collar (polo, dress, Charlie Sheen bowling shirt, etc) and pants/shorts that are not ripped and that do not have patch pockets on the legs.
