Hi all! I am looking to surprise my husband with California Grill reservation in October, if I can score some reservations. So my question is have you taken younger kids here? My son is 7 and has pretty good manners except when I really want him to use them in front of someone kinda important :) How was your experience? Did your kids enjoy it? What did they wear? Many Thanks!

My girls were 2 and just turned 5 on their first visit to Cali Grill. They LOVED it :inlove: We returned with them this past Nov- ages 4 and 6 at that point and it was still a big hit. While I don't know what things will be like after the refurb, they gave the girls goldfish (vs bread) - which they enjoyed as well as things to color. We had a bit of a wait on our first visit, but the girls were quite content to take in the amazing views out on the decks. We also would go out mid meal to catch Illuminations and see the Water Pageant. The old menu had a lot of great options for kids- so if they stick with something like that on the new menu- you should be good food wise as well.

As for attire, first trip both girls wore sundresses...second trip the girls wore sequin embellished tops with pettiskirts and leggings. Obviously, none of that is going to work for a boy ;) I did see a few little boys in polo shirts and khaki pants or shorts.

started taking the grandkids when the first one was 8 months old. last trip had 3 of them there, age 3,2 and 3 months. we bring iPad for the older 2 and let them play games. no problems at all. however, we have a strict "no annoyance" policy. if the kids start to get noisy or unsettled, someone takes them out for a walk, they are usually better when they get back.
we feel strongly that when someone is paying that price, for that kind of an experience, they deserve a peaceful meal
and as houCuseChickie said, they get goldfish. amazing how entertaining those suckers can be when you try!

We need time for things to happen.
If you got a well mannered kid there is no place in the World were you, your hubs and your son wont all enjoy yourselves. ;) For me well behaved followsthe same rule as @docdebbi be kid all you want just dont bug other people.
As far as dress - at any sit down restaraunt i go with the collard shirt polo or button up and clean jeans or shorts.
Cali grill is one of the nicer joints around ;) youre going to have a blast - were looking for that ressie too!

Always take our son- he an old soul- misbehaved children have pi$$ed him off since he was 3 LOL! We even took him to late dinners in order to watch Wishes from the upper deck. Makes him feel "grown up" and is a "treat" for him. He would wear khakis and a button up shirt. You should be fine :)

Thank you all for the help! I am hoping the Grill opens up reservations soon and that I am able to surprise my two favorite guys. I really appreciate all the comments.
