Cabs or Cars

Depending on what type of ticket you have to Uni, I believe there's a free shuttle. That said, we rented a car for several days at WDW so we could drive to Uni. It was very easy. And we discovered we enjoyed having the car on Disney property as well, to our surprise.

The last time I took a cab to Universal, it was a little more than $80 round trip, including tax. That was about a year ago.
I rented a car in Disney for the first time in September and don't know how I managed without it all those times before  So that's what I'd do.

You can get a two park/1 day Universal ticket with a free Mears shuttle, but you have to buy it through a Universal specialist travel agent, they don't sell them on the regular site.
You could also just book that Mears shuttle for $18/person round trip. It's a bit inconvenient, but possibly the cheapest option, depending on how many are in your party.

rent a car! it is very expensive to use cabs. you will be spending almost 50-60 for disney(thats combined for going there and back), im afraid to see universal's.

when i was working for disney as a cp, i missed the bus that would get me there on time, so i was stuck with a taxi...in 05' it cost me $25 plus tip for one way just to go down international drive

How about the other way around? I'm thinking of staying at the Hard Rock in October for the Halloween Horror Nights but wanted to take a trip to WDW one night for MNSSHP. Does Universal have some sort of shuttle service?
