supposed to stay there during Christmas.... Hearing mixed reveiews about transportation to MK. How crowded are the boats. I hear that they pick up at WL before CFW and that sometimes the boats are pretty packed.... thx

When we were there last year the boat to MK never seemed too crowded and if there were people on it they were coming from MK so they got off. The internal buses are much better to me than ones at the moderates. Never needed a golf cart. Have a great time! I'll be there right after Christmas

The buses within are really quick and even if you have to wait for the boat don't forget you still need to walk to MK from the Contemporary so the bus to there may be worth your time...

Personally, I like the walk and most of the wit of the boat captains AND the fact you can bring your drink on the boat...so we wait

as others have said, the boats are never too crowded to get on. yes, every available seat is someitmes taken, but we never had to wait for another boat. this usually happens at opening and closing, rest of the day has plenty of room.
if however, you are actually going DURING Christmas, as in Christmas day, expect crowded everything! boats are no exception.

There are 2 boat "loops" - one that includes Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary and Fort Wilderness Campground. Another that goes direct from Fort Wilderness Campground to the Magic Kingdom - so you can either take the direct boat or take the bus. (As an aside, Wilderness Lodge also has a boat that goes direct to the Magic Kingdom, if you happen to be sightseeing there and want to go to the park).

Just an aside, take some time while you are there to tour the loops of the campground and view the decorations that are put on by the RV crowd. It is pretty cool what they come up with. I personally have not seen the Christmas décor but we were there in late Sept and the RV crowd had tons of Halloween décor set up. Have a wonderful trip. Make time to spend on the beach at night watching the fireworks from Wishes over the lake and then the electric water pageant. Have a wonderful trip
