Bye bye sub woofer...

Well...I did the dumbest (but also coolest) thing today...

As some of you know..I do a lot of audio work here at my home..so i run my workstations thru a digital audio studio..about 700 watts of sound..not bad..but i found out today that it has a limit..

So...sitting here...listening to a few MP3s..and "Basement Jaxx - Wheres your heat at" comes up...a VEEEEEEERY bass filled song. I guess i was a tad bit TOO loud...blew my sub woofer. VERY VERY VERY loud popping noise (yes..i DO know what loud is)....

There is some good news tho..I have a backup woofer that was sitting in my closet...so im not without bass...

Just a word of warning..basement jaxx will destroy your speakers !! hehe

I don't think most people have to worry about that. Not everyone is half deaf like you and likes their music super loud.

thats sucks. i never had enough money to even buy one. about the hearing thing, wait till youve played a little longer in the band. the drummer will make u loose your hearing, i know b/c my brother is one. what size are your main speakers?

I have been in bands since i was about 12...loud stuff doesnt effect me..and i have had some drummers who were louder than ****...hehe

The speakers I have are 4 12" custom cabs with a 700 watt DJ head (insane for home use..I know..I love overkill tho)...remember..SIZE DOESNT MATTER...its the power you got that makes alllll the difference..

im still tweaking the levels for this other woofer...such a pain in the butt....
