Buzz photo location

I know what location the Buzz on-ride photo is, but where is the location of the camera? Last time I went on the ride I tried to do something stupid (like playing dead on the panel with my gun pointed at me) and the next time I want to shoot the camera.

lol- its pretty hard to miss actually. Your car stops turning and faces kind of straight/right and the flash goes off every 5 seconds when a car comes...

I'm not talking about the general direction of it...I want to know the location of the camera that takes the picture, like where on the robot thingy is the camera.

Jeez -- now I feel horribly dumb. Every time I rode that thing, I thought "man, I wish they'd get rid of that stupid strobe light. It's like its aimed right at my face!"

:hammer:

I'm better now.:brick:

LOL Thats how I felt, too. I liked the ride much better before they added the picture.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that there would even be an on-ride photo for this ride? Unless you know it's coming and want to stage a pose, everybody is just sitting there in the picture. And really, who has time to pose for a picture when you're trying to get as high of a score as possible?

I find it weird too...but it's money that I'm sure Eisner is positive he can make off of the Buzz fans. When I rode it for the first time after they put the cameras in, I kept thinking, who is taking all of those pictures! Then I realized what it was! Duh!

How on earth can you blame this on Eisner?!?!?!?

But really, do you think he just sat there one day and said, "hmmm, how about I put a camera on buzz so I can make more $$$"???

lol, I agree with you, it's not the most exciting photo, considering it's not that intense of a ride.

My photo looked like me just waking up in the morning. 'Twas a silly ride to put a photo in, but if Universal did it with Men In Black, Disney must follow suit!

What was the first ride ever (was it at disney or no?) to have on-ride photos?
Not sure. I do know that an old-west themed park up in Maggie Valley NC (Ghost Town in The Sky) had photos taken when you were on the ski lift up the mountain (if that counts), and they've been around for something like 4,000 years. Not sure though if the photos pre-date WDW or not.

Ok, I actually took the time to look this up. All I could find was a liitle blurb among the lists of rides offered at various parks....it seems nobody really knows for sure when & where this trend started, just that every major park offers them on their major attractions.

I remember having my picture taken in Hershey Park in the chocolate factory, when I was a kid, and that was ages ago.

I think having the picture on Buzz is a cute idea. Think of it this way. You are a 4 year old kid, and your big brothers and sisters get their cool picture taken on their rides, why can't you? Bingo...go on Buzz, and now you too can have your very own cool picture.
It might be the only ride that a family can take together. (I know you only can have 2 per picture...but you could have a series of Buzz pictures, 2 by 2)

And I was going to say the same thing about Hersheypark. I've gone there every summer since I was probably 3. The Factory Tour picture is the first I remember. We used to ride that tour over and over again so we could think of cool poses to do. I also remember the log flume ride (The Coal Cracker) being the first that I can think of in Hershey to have an on ride photo. Now, they can't build a new roller coaster without having one. It seems like every year when we go back, a new ride has a picture (Heck...even the Wild Mouse has one!)
I have to admit....they are pretty cool though. I love running off and going to see my picture!

The first time I rode it after they put the photo thing in I was completely surprised. I remember thinking "I don't remember all of these flashing lights before! I wonder why they changed it?!" After that I have enjoyed striking a pose when I ride :)

Of coure he sat there and thought that or else they wouldn't have done it. Everything nowadays is to make money. Sure it's a keepsake...but you have to spend the money to buy it.
