I'll do a full trip report tomorrow, just got back tonight..

but, one thing on my mind.. Buzz Lightyear's ride is TORN UP.. mostly the ride cars that is.. the guns are all beat up, and the paint on the "consoles" for the cars are gone... i mean, I know it's a kid's "interactive ride" but there has got to be a plan for some sturdier paint or something? Or else it's gonna look like this all the time.. any ideas as to what they might do about it?

we had a great trip tho, can't wait to write about it, send Steve some pics of Space & pop century we got :D

Sadly its been like that for a LLOOOOOOOOOONG time...i think they forgot that people would be putting their hands all over the ride vehicles...and thus used a cheap paint... *sigh*

Yeah, I just got back from WDW and it was sad to ride in those carts. I love the ride, but a paint job is definently in order.

Some of the guns need to be replaced because they don't work: either the trigger is broken or the light source is blown. The attraction definitely needs some attention.

They need a sturdier gun system, one that works a little better. Everybody has beat those guns to death..... Although it is an odd concept when you think about guns in Disneyworld.... :D

I totally agree, the guns are definitely beat up and the entire ride needs a new paint job. It is a great ride, especially for the kids, but it is starting to look run down.

Wait a minute. I seem to remember in both the old Contemporary arcade as well as in Frontierland, they had air rifles. I thought the ones in Frontierland were still there. Also, I went out to Tom Sawyer's Island on my last visit, and they had removed the air rifles in the fort that used to point towards Thunder Mountain. I remember going up there with my brother and cousin when I was young and shooting at the trains. I think the fact that they are trying to be so politically correct sucks.

Guns at disney are nothing new....the old air rifles as mentioned are in fact true...

Besides..these are LASER BLASTERS...not guns.. ;)

And as far as I know, the Frontierland Shooting Arcade is up and running. Ah, it was a wonderful place to get warm during those hard winter days as a Custodial...

I used to love the Frontierland shooting gallery when it had real air rifles with BBs. My brother and I also used to shoot at things from Tom Sawyer Island. I used to like shooting at the passing boats. I guess I was a bad shot as I never seemed to hit anything  .

LoL...I bet it was because of people like you which prompted them to first restrict the aim on the guns..and then ultimatly replace them with lightguns..hehe

Yea, i remember back in the day (2000) when we rode the ride, and it was so sparkly and new....my aunt even ran up the score on accident it flashed and went to all 99999s after she shot something! (maybe it was a mistake...i dunno) anyway, how long would it take to rehab that anyway??:brick:

I Love Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. But You guys are right it is in need of rehab. I think the unfortunate part is that disrespectful fools ride the ride and vandalize it on purpose. I witnessed that and notified cast members, who then notified security. It is sad, but it seems anything you put in some people's hands gets destroyed. The problem is with some of the numb skulls out there. How many times have you been on an attraction at Disney world where they had to stop it because some idiot tried getting out of the safety bars and into a ride scene. Need i remind anyone of the vandalism that took place at the Swiss Family Tree house ten years ago. The rides could be sturdier, but people could have a little more respect and not behave like animals.

When I was there last time, it looked like a couple of the cars had been touched up, the paint would last longer if people found out that you can just hold the button down, and not push it like a mad man or woman

Also..dirt inside the car (dirty shoes, I suppose)...and half-torn stickers and even Mickey Mouse stickers all over in our car...

It was pretty gross...

Those fools in transportation really need to stop giving those stickers out! They are practically ASKING small kids to leave them all over the park! :D

I think Buzz needs a rehab but it's a HUGE draw for the younger crouds and having it down for any length of time would cause many complaints. I suppose the could remove a few ride vehicles at a time and do the repainting elsewhere, but that would also be quite a hassle and make the lines longer. We're past the "no one comes in winter so let's rehab everything!" season so I doubt we'll see a rehab of it this year. It's a shame really.

Its really not the transportation ppl who give out the stickers (all i can think of is the boat sticker...). I always see cast members in the stores on main street giving out the Mickey ones...
