Buzz Lightyear Bug?

About 2 weeks ago I was at Magic Kingdom with my brother, sister, and mother and the first thing we did was ride Buzz Lightyear (we were able to walk right on). The ride was normal for all of us except my brother. Somehow he managed to get a score of 999,999 (which is the max) halfway through the ride. Apparently in the first room he had over 100,000 points according to my sister. I saw the score with my own eyes towards the end (I was behind him) but my brother yelled back at me that his score couldn't go any higher about halfway through the ride. I'm wondering, is it actually possible to get a score like that (especially so early), or is it some kind of bug? The average person seems to get under 100,000 for their score. If someone knows how he did it, I'd like to know . When I asked him how he did it, he said "I shot stuff" so that didn't help much. He has no idea how he did it.

Actually, it's not a bug. There are a couple of special targets in the ride that give you very high scores. You just need to know which ones do it. While some of them will give you scores of around 100,000 per hit, I think there's at least 1 that will give you 999,999.

During an e-ride night I rode Buzz about 6 times in a row. By the end, we all had scores above 800,000. There are certain targets that are worth a ton of points (100,000). Ask the CMs when you get on the ride. I would tell you where they are, but that would be cheating... But when you're leaving the first room, turn your car around (so you're going backwards), and look at the ceiling...

Ahh, thanks. I guess my brother just got lucky that time. I've played Buzz like 6 times total, but I think my score has been only around 100,000. I'll have to try to remember your tip and ask cm's when I'm there next time in about a year .

There's a spider like thing on the ceiling in one of the rooms that gives a spit-load of points if you hit it.

If you know what to hit you can get super high scores.

The last time I was at WDW, I did end up with 999,999 a couple of times...

I have no idea what I hit to score all those points though!

This happened to me the 2nd time I rode Buzz. It was near the beginning of the ride. Although it is a nice reward when you try hard to shoot a rare target (or just happen to shoot a target by accident), the ride isn't much fun after that!

I have no idea what I hit, but it was early in the ride and then I couldn't score any more points. At the time I was afraid that my gun was just broken or defective or something!

Do you get anything for having the highest score possible? Or do they just pat you on the back and thank you for riding??

when my father got the highest score he was so happy he told the cast member. In return he got a forced smile and a good job :lol:

My son got 999,999. He said that he hit the rotating Z target. It's a circle in the upper right hand corner of one of the rooms. You can see this if you ride the TTA as it goes through Buzz. It's a circle on top of a structure that keeps going around and around. Those Z's are worth 999,999.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but... We were riding Buzz in June. Three times the ride stopped, all scores reset and then we started again. My ride partner scored 999,999 when we broke down. We thought "Way Cool!" Scores reset. After we restarted, she did it again, 999,999, in a matter of minutes. Broke down, scores reset. The 3rd time, we were stopped between rooms with nothing in front of us but a door. She started shooting at a blank door, the backs of people's heads and a blank wall. Again a 999,999 score. The best part of the ride was a CM came and escorted us all off of the ride. We had to walk off. Pretty neat.

thats awesome flcastmember . Ill have to try that sometime. I think my highest score on Buzz is over 200,000. It could be alot higher but my sister always wants to move the thing around
