Buying Tickets Right Before Park Closing

Hi everyone! I am going to be taking a quick trip to WDW soon and have a really obscure question -- there are a few people in my family who I really want to see Illuminations: Reflections of Earth in Epcot, and that's all I want to take them to (don't ask :)). I heard that you can't buy single-day park tickets at the ticket windows right before closing. I know that when I'm going to be there Illuminations will be going on at 10 pm -- is it possible to show up around 9 pm or 9:30 pm and buy a Epcot ticket good for that day? I know it's far from the typical question, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Didn't Epcot used to have a reduce admission price for entry after 4 o' clock. I'm not sure about this, but I really thought it is or possibly was true.

Better yet, just go buy the tickets now at a Disney Store or On-Line and be done with it and not have to spend the extra time buying tickets instead of getting a good spot for the show.

I think it was for Florida residents only.

How about getting a four day park hopper pass? the unused days dont expire and you could go to a different park for the day and then hop over to Epcot for the evening event. This would work well if you were already planning on buying 2 or 3 days worth of tickets because the cost wouldnt be that much greater and you wouldn't actually have to use a whole day for one evening in Epcot. Example..go to MGM for the day..have a nice dinner at the location of your choice...could even be inside EPCOT or at MGM..then get your spot for Illuminations. That way you aren't really paying for whole day at Epcot when you will only be there for a few hours. Also you can get these tickets at a Disney Store before you even arrive at WDW if you have a DStore near you. Hope this helps!
