Buying Groceries on Site

We are going to be staying at Old Key West and want to do some eating in our room. (Mostly breakfast) Where does one buy groceries? We will not have a car so it has to be somewhere nearby.


Also I just read about the grocery stop that Mears does.... We have vouchers for them already and how would one go about utilizing the grocery stop?

Although I haven't stayed at Old Key West, Wilderness Lodge had limited groceries availible in the gift shop. I would suspect that since OKW is a DVC property, and every room has kitchen facilities, that they might have a decent selection of food.

You will be able to buy bread, milk, limited sandwich meats, cheese, crackers, etc. Don't specifically remember cereal, but it would be easy enough to tuck a box into your luggage (and when it's gone, you have a space for souvenirs). I would also suggest bringing granola bars, Pop Tarts, etc from home.

I know that most limo/town car companies will make a grocery store stop. Perhaps Mears' town car service does also.

Double check your vouchers. If they are for Mears' bus service, there will be no grocery store stop.

You can always take a taxi to a grocery store.

I know All-Star Movies has a very limited selection. Not much more that one small cabinet of selection. One other thought, maybe someone can verify, but it seems like the Trading Post at Ft. Wilderness had a decent selection, although last time I was there was over 10 years ago. If their selection is decent, you could just us the WDW transportation system to get over that and back

there are 2 grocery stores close to WDW, off site, that a town car should stop at. I recommend Winn-Dixie, which is 1 mile off property, but not tourist zoned, so you don't pay tourist prices.:
