buying E-Ride tickets for others...

I am going down to Disney Aug 3 and I wanted to buy some E-Ride tickets for some friends who are staying on property the same time we are. I wanted to surprise them though at the end of the night when everone is leaving and we would get to stay!!! I think they would be really happy!
So I was wondering if I would be able to purchase the 8 tickets even though there will only be two in my room? Will they be strict about it because it is a resort guest only event? They are staying at the ASMo but I wanted to surprise them... what do you think?

When we purchased our E-ride tickets in June, we were able to purchase 5 tickets, no questions asked. (we were there with a large group from our dance studio, and since we were at All Star Movies, our family of 5 was split and one child was rooming with another family.) I walked up, bought our tickets without showing any ID or park tickets. I did have to give them my room number, but that was it. They had the room down as 4 guests, and they had no problem selling me 5 tickets. However....

Others from our dance studio went to purchase their tickets and they had to show their resort ID, plus their park tickets, plus they verified the date of the E-ride matched the date they were staying in the hotel, and could only buy one ticket for each resort ID they had. What was quite simple for me ended up being an ordeal for everyone else from our group that we talked to.

So I guess it just depends on who is working in guest services at the time you purchase the tickets.

Keep in mind that at some point before the park closes to the regular public, you will have to turn your tickets in and get your wrist bands, which would of course make it difficult to surprise your friends. I don't know how late you can pick these wrist bands up.

From what I remember, you have to pick the bands up after 4pm but BEFORE ENight begins. So don't wait until the last minute.
