Im going to Orlando (from England) for the first two weeks of October. Im just wandering what the lines will be like then? How long do you think we will wait for the big rides?

I have read it is Columbus day during those weeks so will try to avoid going then. But what days will this be on? Is it just one day or a whole weekend?

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

EPCOT is having the Food & Wine Festival during that time, which is usually more crowded on the weekends, so World Showcase will be busy than usual during that time. The other parks are typically lighter during this time period, so you shoudn't have to wait too long for most attractions. Just remember to use Fast Pass where available, and at rides with historically long lines - Toy Story Mania, Soarin', RNRC, etc.

Columbus day is on the 10th, which is a Monday, and its only for that one day.

I have been there during both of those weeks in the past. And as the previous posted stayed, Epcot will most likely be the busiest pasrk while you are there b/c of the F & W festival, especially on the weekends when locals come! Honestly, I found crowds even over the Columbus day weekend to be VERY managable. There will be lines for the major attractions, but utilize fastpasses and you will be good to go.

We went the third week in October in 2009. Columbus Day weekend will likely be busy, and the F&W Festival will get crowded later in the day, but other than that, the lines were veryshort and manageable. You're going to love that time of year. Hope you attend MNSSHP too!

Arguably the least busiest time of year is one time when we went. Last week of September and first week of October. Once you hit October the weather isn't as hot (very hot still in September) and almost no one is thinking about a Disney trip in October. You'll notice the traffic being bearable then

It's always hard to predict, but overall October is a good month to go. As others have said weather is getting cooler and most kids are back in school so it won't be as busy as the summer. No matter what - you will have a great time! Enjoy!
