Bus stops at the parks

It makes sense that the bus stops for the deluxe resorts would be closer than the stops for the value resorts. My Q is: which deluxe stops are closer? I realize that these are subject to change.
I am totally in love with WL, but this trip will be with an ECV, so I'm not sure if the boat is our best choice.
Boardwalk is also a possibility.

Thoughts? Personal experience?
I guess what I'm asking is: For those of you who just returned, were you surprised at how far your stop was, or were you delighted with how close it was?

Thanks, and apologies if this has been answered recently (I did a search.

Unless things have changed a lot recently, your premise is not correct. The deluxe resorts are not always closer to the park gates than the mods (or values). And the location of any given resort's bus in relation to the other buses differs from park to park. And is subject to change at any time.So I wouldn't choose a resort based on where their bus is parked. Besides- if you are on an ECV, you aren't walking, so why would you care about distance?

If you stay at BoardWalk or any other Crescent Lake resort, you can ride your ECV to either the Epcot or DHS gates. Then, to get to MK or DAK, you'd either take a bus or a Minnie Van. The one hiccup here is that if the people you're with don't want to walk or it's too hot or rainy to walk/ride, then you need to take the boat to either Epcot or DHS, but, taking the boat for those in a wheeled vehicle isn't that difficult at all.

If you stay at the Contemporary, you can ride your ECV to the MK gate or to the monorail to get to Epcot. Then, you'd bus or Minnie Van to DAK or DHS.

The WL bus stop at DHS is near the exit of the parking lot, like one or two from the end. AK is the #1 or #2 stop. Epcot is the very last stop before the buses leave the bus depot. Don't remember MK as we always take the boat. ECVs can get on the larger boats to MK from WL, just not the smaller ones that are typically used from GF to MK.

The location of the stop is not necessarily driven by " deluxe " it is more like " neighborhood " so the resort typically will give preferential treatment to the park neighborhood that it's in. And I emphasize " typically " there are variables. If you ask a specific question about a resort or bus load zone I should be able to help you. If I can't they would probably fire me LOL.

Driver--looks like you are Da Man!
Am hoping to take my father who will use an ECV--he can walk, but not all day.
We are probably only going to MK and Epcot, possibly Studios.
Hoping to stay at WL, but may end up at CBR or FQ.

Thanks.

I always feel that the bus stop locations are haphazard at best and all over the place.

Its particularly frustrating when you are passing empty/blank bus stops on your way to your depot, the farthest from the main gate of the park. Haha

Our bus stop for POFQ was located all the way on the end. Its more frustrating to see multiple buses show up for an other resort while you continually wait for one of yours to show up.

FQ isn’t the worst. Be at the MK and walk back to Pop and Caribbean. Both of these are at the Porte cochere at the Contemporary.

The spots aren’t related to Resort classification as values beat out CBR often and CSR beats out many deluxes.

Thanks, everyone. Looks like there is no consensus, nor rhyme nor reason to bus stop placement. I agree that it is beyond frustrating to walk .... and walk.... and walk to get to your stop (which ALWAYS seems to be the last one), as well as waiting and watching 4 busses for another resort come and go.
I guess, as always, price will be the determining factor in my resort selection.

One thing with buses is that no matter where you came from you may not be let off at your bus stop.
That drives me crazy, too. I know it's pretentious, but paying for a deluxe resort and getting dropped off as far away from the park gate as possible is aggravating. At least we only use DVC points or DVC rentals. If I was paying $1000/night at the Grand Floridian and got dropped off at the All-Star Movie stop, I'd blow a gasket.

Unfortunately that won't change. Where you get dropped off is driven by the drivers next dispatch. Otherwise he would have to stop twice, once to let you out, and second for his next dispatch. An example of were that dose happen is at the Springs, everyone is dropped off in Town Center then the bus moves on to its dispatch. If Town Center is full then the bus proceeds to the next dispatch stop as they do normally at the parks.

I find that with my Dad on an ECV and on our last rip with Mom and Dad on ECVs the best and easiest option to MK was the boat not the bus. The boat is much easier loading and unloading the ECV. At the AK the WL bus stop is the first one so the bus is easy there, The WL bus stop at Epcot is far away and to the side , we find the easiest method for Epcot is to either take the boat to MK and transfer to the monorail or take the MK bus and get off when it stops at the Grand Floridian to pick up and get on the monorail at the GF. Hollywood studios bus stop is about midway down.

You are paying that $1000 a night for the resort and the resort alone. It has nothing to do with where your bus stop may be, or where it may drop you off. Paying more for your resort does not earn you special perks at the parks.

It does buy you perks getting to the parks...monorail and boat stations/docks are quite close to the entrance.

And we will see if the FP system stays even-stevens between resort tiers.

I know what you mean, when I pay $150/night at All-Star Sports and get dropped off too close to a park it really bothers me. I get that feeling of entitlement that rubs off once I walk all the back to my bus at the end of the night.
