Instead we will have Marvel Super Hero Island exist today in Islands of Adventure, but in the different universe where Warner Bros. and Universal have a deal to use Looney Tunes and DC Comics for Islands of Adventure instead, so Disney will have Marvel for WDW in between 2016 or 2018.
This new land will be for Batman called Gotham City, it's setting in Burtonverse inspired by Batman 1989 and Batman Returns.
It will have attractions, restaurants, shows and shopping based on Tim Burton's Batman films. It will have meet & greet characters around the area:

Wayne Manor - Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth
Batcave - Batman and Robin
Arkham Asylum - Bane, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Two-Face, the Joker, and other villians
Penguin's Lair - Penguin
Axis Chemicals - The Joker and Harley Quinn

Awesome!

I did a similar version in by WB thread. But it was more like Test Track than Dick Tracy. It would be cool if the Batmobile shot things like garage doors and criminals.

There's so many great environments to play with, that you can play with. You can go through the Batcave, sewers, circus and Axis Chemicals. Oh yeah, also Arkham where many of the villains live.
I expect the escape room will be themed to Arkham Asylum, so you'll escape from the villians trying to kill you such as the Joker, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, the Riddler, Bane, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Catwoman, and more.

I'm surprised there's no immersive "Batman land" in any premium park. Does Six Flags own the theme park rights forever? Maybe Universal could acquire them for a new land at Epic Universe, after it's been open for several years. [Reading this later today.]

I'm kind of in love with the look of Gotham in the Arkhamverse, including the almost always shiny rained-on streets. It has a slight fantasy tinge to it. The look of it might be too dark for a park, though. I can't imagine it in Orlando daylight. Burton does seem the right fit.

Six Flags owns the park rights, but WB can choose not to extend their partnership.
You're right. Six Flags owns the North American rights until 2053 reportedly, and Parque Warner Madrid, owned by a consortium including Warner, owns the European rights. What a waste. Maybe if Six Flags gets into trouble and needs to sell assets, it'll sell its rights (probably not, I guess).

Maybe we'll see an immersive Batman land in East Asia. Depends on how popular he is over there, probably.

They have a 4D Batman ride, "Batman Dark Flight," in the Studio City casino resort Macau, but that's one ride, not any sort of immersive land. It opened in 2015, and might be closed now, as I don't see any recent reviews or coverage of it, nor does it seem to be on Studio City's site.

Abu Dhabi has a kind of limited Gotham in a larger DC area of its indoor park.
