Buffalo through Cleveland

Hi,
We are driving down this summer and have taken the Buffalo route 90-79-77-26-95, etc in the past. I noticed that continuing on 90 to Cleveland (then 77-26-95) only adds an additional 20 mins or so (based on Google maps), but I am wondering if it is more of a pain due to potential traffic in the Cleveland area.

Can anyone comment on this, if you have taken this route. This looks like it might have more amenities than the other route. Thanks

I have had to drive from Rochester (east of Buffalo) to Cleveland a few times in the last few months. The highways are pretty large and the traffic honestly wasn't that bad, even at peak times of day. Just stay in the left lane and you avoid most of the traffic! Safe travels!

The roads around Cleveland usually aren't that bad. I would personally take I-90 to I-271 at Mayfield and and I-271 runs into I-77 near Richfield and this way you avoid going through Cleveland. I have taken that route many of times and if you take the I-271 Expressway lanes (just before I-90 turns towards Cleveland and where I-271 starts south) then you get to avoid the on - off exit traffic and it is more clear sailing (to me) going that way. On I-77 south through West Virginia, you will still have the toll plazas.

Just my insight but this way you are headed south around Cleveland on express lanes without actually going into Cleveland.
