Ok I'm giving up on getting free dining at POR in December.....saw Buena Vista Suites deal on Mousesavers....can anybody give me the rundown on this place...deal seems too good
I'd also be interested in hearing more about Buena Vista Suites. We're considering setting up a room block there for our wedding next June, but were concerned about the reliability of bus service. Obviously we'd rather everyone stay on-property, but it's hard to convince everyone when there is such a dramatic difference in room costs.
Parking is free. There's a parking lot that wraps all around the building.
There's also no resort fees, unless it's already built into the nightly charge. The only other thing added is the nightly room tax. You'll see the tax if you check rates at wdwinfo.
They also have free shuttle to the parks. If I recall they have 2-3 pick ups at the hotel for each park in the morning and then 2-3 picks up at the parks in the evening. So if you need to go back to the hotel in the middle of the day you can't. They use Mears motorcoaches. They also make a pickup round at the Caribe Royale next door after they pickup at the hotel so it's not the fastest way to the park but it's free and comfy.
Are Buena vista suites the same as the Buena vista palace hotel and spa? Just trying to check if the info on this thread will be relevant to my brother when he visits. Thanks
I haven't stayed here, but have seriously considered it. I have read nothing but fantastic reviews of Buena Vista Suites, and it's endorsed by a few Disney fan websites. There is currently a fall promotion that includes free breakfast and lunch/dinner discounts; it's a small hotel with supposedly beautiful, clean rooms. It is right on 535 and World Drive, a 10-minute drive to Epcot; it's very close to the World. I would have stayed here if I hadn't found a better deal.
Sorry to bump an old post, has anyone stayed here recently? I'm wondering how the shuttles are and the approximate times they go back & forth? Is anything within walking distance? We do not want to rent a car so if the shuttle times are not convenient, does anyone know about how much a cab would be?
Thank you!
It's been awhile but if I recall there was like 4 pick ups in morning going out to the parks and then the 2 or 3 pickups at the parks in the evening. There's no shuttle* during the day.
Not much within walking distance except for the CVS across the street and a gas station. A restaurant or two maybe in the strip mall.
