Hi guys, we`re booked into this hotel in sept, i know it has undergone a recent refurb and is getting quite good reviews since then, but has anybody any recent experience of it. It`s quite important that it is good as this is our first trip to the USA and it`s a special holiday as i`m going to be 40:eek: (ssshhhhh) and we`re celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary while we`re there. Chose here mainly for it`s proximity to downtown disney, the website looks lovely but we`re worriers and really want this trip to be as special and magical as possible without staying onsite. My 13 year old only wants to know if the pool area is "cool". Thanks:kiss:

We stayed at this hotel last summer. It was a last minute 1 day trip (decided to go up that morning) and this was the only place available.

Hotel was very nice and clean. Can't give you any advice on the pool because we didn't use it.

We did have a character breakfast in the hotel and the food was horrible. Characters were cute with the kids, took their time, and were attentive, but the food was not worth it at all.

We were just going to parks, so the way their bus system works, wasn't good for us, but if you picked that hotel b/c of Downtown, you picked good. All you have to do is walk across the street, and your there.

I think we just had a standard room. It was very roomy, beautifully decorated. The renovations were still going on the floor we were staying in, but that was June of 2006. I'm sure they are done by now.

Overall, I'd give it a thumbs up! Enjoy your stay. Hope this helps you!

I stopped there sept 2005 and they were starting to refurb parts of it. I'd guess that they have only improved on it otherwise it would be pointless.

The breakfasts were fantastic. There was something exciting about sitting over looking the lake and fountain at breakfast, then dashing off for the bus.

The Buses were'nt as regular as the Disney hotels, but were good enough for us. We used the hotel bus to get to animal kingdom one morning then changed there for Blizzard beach.

The location of the hotel is much better for downtown disney than the other hotels. I've stopped at the Grosvenor and Hilton previously and much preffered the BVR&S. Last bit of advice is don't pay too much attention to some of the hotel review sites as I've found some people are never satisfied. I'm sure you'll love it as a fellow north easterner!!
