Broke Pirates with help from beyond the grave!

What about breaking pirates? You have to go through my other dribble before you can hear but we thought it was one of the highlights of either of our memories at Disney World.

We didn’t take many pics but we did take a couple and one that really made me think there are still some amazing CMs hiding out here.

Well as far as trips go this was pretty memorable but not for reasons that you may find typical.. First off we stayed at Coronado Springs and I had not been there for years. Rix cafe is a good addition to the resort but I was sad that they enclosed the soda fountains in the pepper market. The food there is still awesome and I still take it to go and it is still one of the best values as far as using the QS points on the dining plan. The room changes are really nice, the beds and lighting really make the place a bit more classy than it used to be. As usual the buses ran like a top constantly and I still insist this is the best resort to stay at if you don’t plan on driving at all.

Here is a little input on the parks cause that’s really what we all go to see right?

MK still looks good, a lot under construction but that is a good thing cause it gives us reason to go back. The walls up at HM were sort of sad but I can’t wait to see what they have in store. The fantasy land expansion looks so much bigger in person than it does on the site and in pictures. It will definitely be something to see even though I am not excited by much of the news about what is going in but it looks like a huge undertaking and I applaud progress.

Here is one thing I was completely geeked about. We took the path through the noodle station to avoid the block party craziness. On the way Stephanie stopped me and said come back and look at the ground. Looked like a sprinkler dripped on the ground or someone dropped a drink and I was thinking “oh great liquid on the ground” On second glance it looked like someone used whatever water was on the ground to draw a really detailed pic of Dopey or bashful Im not good at dwarfs.

This was just so nice to see and we have no idea who drew it but it only lasted a short time before it was dried and completely gone. I’m so glad Stephanie spotted it and that we were there to see it. You lucky folks get to see it too!

AK nothing really new if you have been there in the past 2 years its pretty much the same although I did meet the water chemist for the park, no idea that WDW had so many water chemists and how much work goes into the water alone!

MGM - Yeah I know its not the name but I refuse to call it anything else! Really wish they would do something better with GMR its so sad. Toy story mania Line is insane as always. American Idol just proves the fact that even when people are right in front of them performing they still don’t know what a good singer is. I think auto tune has ruined peoples hearing.

Epcot - Great time at the Food and Wine Festival. I really enjoy it and loved using my snack points there even though my mom would have yelled at me for ruining my appetite. Kim Possible was awesome. I am a big technology nerd and my girlfriend is not, even she thought it was really really cool. None of the displays are so intrusive that you would notice them if you weren’t looking. We had troubles playing it one day so we didn’t do all 7 countries so I hope we can do it when we go back. I hope this turns into something that can happen at all the parks though, its really one of the more innovative things disney has done and I put this above some of the more recent attractions as far as entertainment value.

So no onto our paranormal Pirates experience! We decided to ride pirates on Tuesday night before the park was closing early for the Mickey’s not so scary event. In the ride my girlfriend was asking me if I could remember the name of the ghost that haunts the ride and causes mischief. Well it was on the tip of my tongue and she didn’t know so she asked the first CM and he was doing his pirate accent and was loudly denying a ghost. The next cm who was operating the loading doors asked “Ghost?” and said he had been there a while and never heard of it. We were trying to explain it and he had no clue. We said the legend had been around as long as we could remember and were surprised he didn’t hear about it. At the last second before we shipped off he told us “I’ll ask my friend George he knows a lot about the ride” Steph an I looked at each other and instantly knew he was messing with us. We looked at him as the boat was leaving and he gave us a wink. We were laughing about it all the was down the cave and just as we turned for the drop and the boat was just hitting the rails where it guides you down the hill, we hear a clunk, then nothing. Thirty seconds go by and nothing then an announcement that the ride will start soon, then another. An announcement that the sound was stopping came, then another few minutes.. We were on about 15 minutes waiting then the lights came on and we had to be evacuated. As soon as we heard that the rest of the night we we laughing about how we broke pirates. Whether you believe in George or not the timing was pretty funny and it was funny that a ride evacuation became one of the most amazing memories of our trip.

Hope that story was worth the wait :)

On a side note and something I forgot to mention the lack of pet related products in Disney is just a huge disappointment. We looked several stores and all the cast members we talked to said they were sad about it too. They also said that they had to fight to keep what few products they do have on the shelves. Seems like they only have products for tiny dogs and girl dogs up to 30 lbs.

We have a big drooling newfie and we got him an oven mitt instead of a tiny dog toy. I think he likes that better anyway.
