Bringing in outside food

We have reservations a Teppanyaki for our trip this fall. I've been looking forward to this since our honeymoon 6 years ago. The problem is what will our 3 year old eat? We've looked at the menu at allearsnet, and we don't think he'll even want the grilled chicken.

I asked the CM when making the ressie if we could order mac and cheese or chicken nuggets, even though they weren't on the menu. He basically read the menu that's on allears back to us. So my question is, are the basic kids foods available to order at Teppanyaki? If not, we were planning on stopping at the Refreshment port and picking up some McNuggets and fries. Would it be frowned upon if we brought that food in with us so we can eat together?

Thanks

Um - yeah - this one isn't really geared toward young kids - have you ever taken your child to a local Benihana's? It's very similar. But it does not have mac-and-cheese and hotdogs like some of the other restaurants. Still, your child might be fascinated by the way they make the food at the large grills, and try some of the items there...hopefully someone who has attempted to take their toddler to Teppanyaki might be able to offer another opinion. There are, of course, childcare options if you want to go out for an everning without your child. But I understand the quandry...

I took my son at 2 1/2. He loved the terryaki <sp> chicken and the shrimp from DH's meal. If you have time before your trip try taking him to a Japanese Steakhouse before your trip. We have a local one here that we go to every couple of months, so he was very used to the food before we went. Of course my son will try just about anything and I know not all kids are like that. He loves the fried rice and the mushroom soup too. We bought him some little chop sticks from the store outside Teppenyaki. Now he can't wait to go back to show them how he can eat all his food, including his rice with his chop sticks. OHH! That's a great idea to get him interested in it! Get some chop sticks for him and let him try eating with them. Let him practice on peices of meat or mac a cheese 1st. Then show him how to scoop his rice. He'll love it! It will be an adventure for him.
