Bringing Disneyland to the East Coast

As some of you may know, my father is dying of liver failure. The plan was to do a live liver donation, but his surgeon has since talked him out of it, so the plan is now to make his life as much fun as possible while praying he gets a deceased donor liver in time. Time is something he doesn't have much of. I'll be surprised if he lives for a year.

While this is all very sad, one thing I always wanted to do is to take my little 1/2 sister (his daughter who will be a year old next month) to Disneyland or DisneyWorld and get mouse ears for her. While I will still LOVE to do that when she's older - the chances of Jim (our dad) ever seeing that day are pretty slim (since they live in Boston and he's sick enough that moving him could cut his life even shorter). So I'm bringing the magic to him in 2 weeks (I'll be in Boston Oct. 14-17th).

I've already decided to get mouse ears for everyone in my father's household (Me, My husband, my father's mother, my father, his girlfriend, and the little squirt). I'm trying to think of over things to get and bring from Disneyland. I'm taking my camcorder with me and filming the trip and as much of the rides as I can, so they'll have that. Any other ideas?

Anything would be appericiate! Please keep us in your prayers and positive thoughts!
Thanks!

It’s very kind of you for bringing Disneyland to your family.

Here is an idea, why not make a basket collecting little trinkets of each land… Just little stuff like key chains, postcards, a map of the park, a tiara for your little sister, giant lollipops, beads from New Orleans Square, pressed pennies, antenna toppers …these are the little things that make up Disneyland.
Also, you can have the names of your family members embroidered on the Mickey ears. Gives it a little special touch :)

Bring some of the bakery goods - yum! You could also go to City Hall and tell tem your story and ask if there is anything they think of. You would be surprised what Disney can do. You could also get some autographed pictures of characters to give to your 1/2 sister.

The names on the ears are a MUST of course. ;)

Thanks for the other ideas too! I think I should talk to them (if I can do it without crying - which is hard right now, as this is all pretty tender still).

I was thinking of getting my picture taken with Mickey and some other characters and have a sign (that I'll have made up previously and brought with me), that says something like "Insert Jim here" or "All my love - Jay".

To add to this - I had another brain storm. While we're in Boston visiting my family, we're also going to visit my DH's family (who lives there too). Now - he's got a nephew/god-son who's really having a hard time right now. He was abused by his parents (will spare you the gorey details on his family's messed up drama). He's in foster care now and, of course, my DH being the only positive male role model this little 5 year old has ever had, we want to treat him extra special. :) I was thinking of getting a Peter Pan hat for him (with his name) or something like that and making up a Peter Pan gift package for him. :) I wonder if Peter will be in the Parks???
