Breakfast

Welcome to WDWMagic!!

Even when we flew, I would pack boxes of pop tarts and granola bars in our luggage. We would grab one on the way out the door. I also made my own trail mix and packed them in zip lock snack bags. Worked out great.

Then I would suggest a box of pop tarts or use one of your snacks if you're on the dining plan. I always take a box or two ... my problem is that I just can't wake up :)

we packed a bag of cheerios and hoarded mealplan drinks for the offspring and packed in a box of KIND brand granola bars for us. I drank the resort coffee machine coffee and we picked up snacks at the parks.

We brought granola bars (and Emerald "Breakfast on the Go" granola packets) for me and DH,and for the kids, mini boxes of cereal. I also packed a small baggie of plastic spoons and some paper picnicware bowls. (Room hack: if we hadn't wanted to bring the spoons and bowls, the kids could have poured their cereal in the in-room drinking glasses instead, and eaten it with plastic spoons from the food court.) All of our foodstuffs were placed in a small duffel that we took on the plane with us, and then used for souvenirs on the return trip.

Once at the resort, all we had to do was buy milk. The kids had their choice of cereal every morning, which they could eat right at the table and chairs in the room, and DH and I munched on granola with our morning caffeinated beverages (brewed-in-room coffee for me, resort-mug-of-cola for him) en route to the bus stop.

Between the groceries we bought at home and the milk we purchased at the resort shop, we spent no more than $15 on breakfast for four people for six days.

What does everyone do for breakfast when staying onsite? We will be flying. I hate the idea of spending a lot of $$$ and time eating at the hotel.
Firstly, welcome to the wdwmagic family! There are so many options for breakfast! If you don't want to use a table service on your arrival day, you can always call Garden Grocer, as @aprilshan suggested. I think the minimum order is $40, or if you are the dining plan, head to Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney. Depending on which resort you will be staying at, you can always visit the food court for an inexpensive start to your day. When you have time, check out the link I am including in my post, see what works for you and your family.

Thanks so much for all the great suggestions! Last trip we stayed Club Level....unless we win the lottery on Saturday, I don't think that will be in the budget. I am looking at POFQ and think we are better off paying out of pocket for meals. Children are 11 and 13. My 11 year old is a very light eater and I don't think the DDP will make sense. Thanks again!

Bagels and/or cereal in the room on most days. On our most recent trip our room was very close to one of the quiet pools, so we had breakfast there & the kids got a pre-parks dip while my wife & I finished our coffee. Breakfast by the pool turned out to be one of my family's favorite parts of the trip!

My brother purchased a bunch of granola bars, pop tarts, and cereal from a local dollar store near him and actually mailed them to the resort. They will be there waiting for him when he checks in. This was the only option he really had because their van will be full of people and luggage. They don't have the extra room and they didn't want to pay Orlando Pricing for groceries.

Like many others have said we pack granola bars, pop tarts, mini-cereal boxes etc on our trip. We used to purchase breakfast in the food court or character breakfasts, but realized I would rather spend my money and meal entitlements on dinner. We drive, so last year we packed a big cooler with yogurts and fruit also. This year I am planning on bringing small frozen bagels (I figure they will defrost and be ready to eat when we get there) and cream cheese in addition to our other choices.
This year we are doing the QSD and will have two extra meal entitlements because we plan on purchasing two meals out of pocket. We will probably use these for breakfast somewhere. Anyone have a great suggestions for quick service breakfast ideas not at our resort, POR? I have no problem eating there, just looking for other ideas. Thanks

I usually dont even eat in the resort personally. I go right to the park and get and roll and coffee from one of the bakeries (starring rolls), or I just dont eat breakfast.

We rarely eat more than a pop tart or granola bar for breakfast anyway, so we just bring that stuff with us and eat while we get ready in the morning, or on the way to the parks. Sometimes we'll just grab a snack in the parks too. Usually we'll do one or two character breakfasts, but trying to eat a full meal every morning just takes too long, and we're trying to hit rope drop every day.
