Breakfast: CRT vs Chef Mickey's

I personally have not dined at either. But i would weigh the following options:

1. Price. I'm assuming CRT is more expensive.

2. Which meal are you going for? Breakfast @CRT you can get in to MK early, great pictures!

3. Which characters are you more interested in seeing?

4. Which menu appeals to you and your hubby the most.

Hope that helps. If not at least it gave the thread a bump. ;)

I haven't done breakfast at CRT, but I did enjoy breakfast at Chef Mickey's. The menu is your typical breakfast food and the character interactions are great if you're put in the right area of the restaurant.

I have not done CRT, but have had a couple of experiences with Chef Mickey's. I can tell you the buffet at Chef Mickeys is unbelievable. The variety is wonderful and covers ANYTHING you could possibly want. Any way you go, it will be a great experience.

I have done both. They are 2 very different experiences. CRT is all you care to eat. They ave a smaller menu but fancier food. The atmosphere is the best, one of my favourites but quite pricey...your picture pkg is included in the price. Chef Mickeys is an amazing array of foods but a little crazy sometimes...regular breakfast foods and a little loud..it is much larger in space....the picture pkg is not included in the price here and runs between $30 or $40 I believe.

Between Cinderella's Royal Table and Chef Mickey's, which would you choose? For my party, it'll be just my husband and I and we'll probably be paying OOP. We've never eaten at either! Thanks :)
Chef Mickeys is the kids favorite. They like doing it each trip. For my wife and I, we'd rather not go back. We enjoyed it once in all of our trips, and that was on Christmas. We just had a great breakfast at CRT in February. Much better than we had remembered it. The setting is so much nicer in the castle as well. That for sure would be my pick for you.

I would try Chef Mickey's. The character interaction is wonderful! It's a typical breakfast buffet though really @ both places. So... I guess it all depends on whom you'd really like to meet up close: Mickey & the Gang or the Princesses. Either choice is great! CRT is a bit more expensive, but you're in the MK early! That's a plus! Enjoy!:D

Thanks for the input! I haven't heard very much about the actual food at either of them.

Well, it seems to be split down the middle! I think we'll go with Chef Mickey's though. DH wouldn't get up early to go to CRT anyway, and since I'm not going to add the dining plan until we get right down to the wire and I'm sure if he's going with me, I'd have to pay OOP for CRT and I really don't want to shell out $130! We'll probably end up making Chef Mickey's ADRs for 9:00 or so because we'll be out late that night and DH is going to want to sleep (contain the mob!). But I wonder, how does Chef Mickey's compare to Crystal Palace...

I liked CP dinner. I've never had the breakfast. Again, I would assume that it's just your typical buffet type food. it all depends.... if you want to get up close w/ Pooh & Friends it's great!:) Again, you're in the MK early and that's pretty cool.

I did both on our trip last month with my husband and young daughter, and agree for the most part with everything said above. One thing that was not mentioned, though, is that your posed photopass picture at Chef Mickey's is with a statue.
I think we all preferred the buffet at Chef Mickey's over the food at the castle, but I think everyone should experience CRT at least once. It's a great experience, especially if you get a window seat overlooking the carousel.

I've never been to either before, in all my trips to Disney.. my fiancé and I decided on CRT for our honeymoon in OCT. though over all the other breakfast joints... I really feel like u need to eat in the castle at least once.. esp if its just you and your husband... very nice way to start the day...

plus.. it's not breakfast food you'll find everywhere else.. that's what really drew my attention.. the things offered at chef mickeys I can get at any breakfast restaurant right here at home.. or heck.. even in my kitchen

Im just not a fan of Chef Mickeys. The food is just ok and the atmosphere is just ok. It seems like so many of our so so dinner experiences have been there. Too many to look forward to going there. We are stil going this summer, though, because our kids love it. On the other hand, CRT was fantastic for breakfast in February. The dining room is great, and its just a different type character experience.

I have been at both so I would say CRT. Just being up in the castle that you have seen just the outside for so many years. We were there for dinner and it was table service. Chef Mickeys is a buffet.

I would do CRT! Get into the park earlier, and the Princesses are nice. I ate there a while ago, but Chef Mickey's always was chaotic mess when I was there.
That's been a big turn off for me at chef mickeys. It really seems less organized that the other character buffets. Other than our Christmas brunch, the food isn't as good ad I remember either

I'm usually the odd person out on this one, but I like CP soooo much better than CM. CP is beautiful, and you can get into the park early. It's much less noisy and the food is better to me.

I would do CRT to get into MK before they open. :) CRT has great atmosphere. Much larger food selection at Chef Mickey's, but we liked the food at CRT. We've done both and enjoyed both. My son enjoyed CRT more than I thought he would, but he's also getting old enough to notice girls a bit more. :)

can anyone post pics of the food at CRT? I'm excited for my first breakfast reservation there in October and I'd love to see what the food actually looks like
