Breakfast at Pop Century Crowds

This topic alone is the main reason I no longer stay at Pop. Anything after 8AM is like that famous picture of the last chopper leaving Saigon. A madhouse of pepole trying to balance trays while opening the glass door fridges trying to get their drinks and spilling them all over the place. No places to sit and dirty tabels everywhere because of ignoramous types leaving their trash on the tables expecting someone else to clean it up.

However, if you go before this time, its actually pleasant enough to get a meal. The food is surprisingly good for being a value resort. In fact, i would say without a doubt it was better than the counter service breakfast at the Wilderness Lodge.

Why wouldn't it be? Aside from the specialty restaurants at the other Disney resorts, Disney serves the same food throughout the property.

Are you kidding me? If that was the case, EVERY restaurant would be the same, now wouldn't it?

There is a huge variety of food for breakfast at Pop. Over at Roaring Forks in the Wilderness Lodge: you can get scrambled eggs, bacon (no sausage), pancakes, or all of them together. WOW!!! That's pretty much it for counter service other than a parfait thingy and oatmeal. A Deluxe hotel with 1/10 of what you could get at a Value! Plus, the Roaring Forks area can server about 15 people at time. Its a closet compared to Pop's food area. And surprisingly, the $79/night value motel has equal quality, if not better, counter service food than a deluxe $300/night hotel, IMHO.

At Port Orleans, you can get custom make omelets, etc. Each hotel has different eating areas, but the Values definitely have the biggest diversity of food and a good quality. Normally, you sacrifice quantity for quality in any food serving, but the values do a good job.

I have been there February vacation and it was busy but I have never had a problem getting a table nor have I ever found the place to be dirty. There are people who leave there mess for others to clean but there are always CM that are right there to clean it up. I don't really get up as early as most people but the last time I stayed at pop (last year) I got breakfast and brought it back to the room. It was busy but they go pretty fast and there were still tables available.

I hate to say it but for the most part fosse76 is correct. When it comes to QSL nearly all of staple foods (scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, biscuits etc.) are identical no matter where you go.

I've only stayed at POP, but I am one of those that do get up early because of the EMH. The time span you've mentioned is wonderful. Hardly crowded at all. Not loud or dirty, though it is rarely dirty. The families with kids are usually just coming in around 7:30 or so, so you should be good to go!

Not that it helps in getting to the parks at an early hour, but 9:30-10AM was a quiet time for breakfast in the Pop food court. (Our group was *not* made up of morning people...) :D

I'm not sure what time we went to breakfast when we stayed there, but I do know that if you go over to the front side of the building, it is much quieter to sit and eat you meal. It's the part in front of "Cosmic Concoctions" or whatever the bar is called. Be sure to try that area for sure.

if you get there before 8am you should be able to find a place to sit without a problem, unless the MK is having early EMH, then maybe get there about 6:30-ish. the actual food area should be fairly quiet either time, except for the coffee and soda area which is busy all the time. either way have a great time.:D
