Breakfast at BOG! Should we aim for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train after?

I ended up scoring an 8:10 am BOG breakfast for our trip next month by nabbing a cancellation. MK opens on 9 am that day. I read that the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a great ride you can oftentimes jump on with no wait after your BOG breakfast, before the park opens to regular visitors. Does anyone know if this is true? I tried to set up a customized plan on TouringPlans and it said at 8:33 am I'd have a 56 minute wait for the mine train ride. I don't see how that is possible, but maybe I'm missing something obvious. Thanks!

Breakfast at BOG is trash. Hands down the worst experience of any type I've had at any Walt Disney World location. Not just worst dining experience, worst anything. Disney should be ashamed of what they put on a plate for $24.

TouringPlans might be showing you a 56 minute wait time because you have to wait 27 minutes for the park to open in the first place. Is it possible that it's also an Extra Magic Hours day?

oh, bummer. I'd read positive things about it. :(

It's June 9, so it's not an EMH day.

Yep. IMHO, they got better breakfast options at the All Star Cafe's in the resorts

We had a great time having pre-park opening breakfast at BOG. I remember nothing about the food (I wasn’t expecting much in any Disney restaurant being that it was my first trip back as an adult) but it was fun to get into the park early and then get into fantasyland more or less “first.” We did Peter Pan and a few other attractions, not Mine Train, but I’ve heard that is a good strategy if you’re really keen on getting on that ride without a fast pass. My husband, who is not in the least interested in park planning, strategizing, etc, said “that was the best strategy! We should have breakfast there every time.” Have fun, I think you’ll enjoy it :)

I have an ADR to go here on my upcoming vacation. My GF and I just want to see the inside and experience the ambiance and decor in there more than anything. I keep warning her I only hear mediocre things about bfast lol So she, as well as I, have both lowered our expectations. Looking at the breakfast menu, it does some a little underwhelming. But I am going to give it a try and enjoy it regardless!

Taxmad, just curious, did you by chance use the touringplans reservation finder to snag yours? I just started a finder search maybe a week ago. Even though I have a 10am reservation already, I am trying to find an 8am ressie on a different day so I can switch.

We enjoyed breakfast there both in 2015 and 2017. Yeah, it's expensive, but you do get into the park early and the food was pretty good in my opinion. I had the Feast A La Gaston, my sister had the Cronut, and DD had the cereal. We were done eating about 30 minute before the park opened and went to line up for 7DMT. We were probably only 50 people back. Unfortunately the ride was down, so after waiting about 30 minutes we gave up and went to do something else. The line does get long fast, as people must rush through breakfast in order to get in line.

No, since I booked my trip only six weeks before we leave, I just check available reservations each morning around 7 am ET and that one popped up with an opening.

Ahh. You lucked out! I actually got an 8:50 slot this weekend, but am going to continue looking for that elusive 8am opening. I've still got 3 months, but hopefully I luck out like you did lol

Now with the way pre park opening is handled everyone will be lining up at the castle instead of out front. The sweet spot in pre park opening reservations is pretty much gone.

Not necessarily true. My story above about lining up for 7DMT after BOG took place in May last year, which is soon after they started doing the morning show. You can still get a pretty good advantage with a pre park opening breakfast.

Am I the only person who loves BOG for breakfast? I mean sure, the food is nothing to write home about, but I always make a PPO reservation there when I'm doing a Magic Kingdom day. I like that it's easier to sit in the West Wing, and also I've always been able to ride Mine Train and Peter Pan before they let the masses in. I think it's totally worth it as it frees up two of the most difficult Fastpasses, and it's a great photo opportunity.

I might be the only living soul who, more or less, places ambience/theme/atmosphere/restaurant decors and architecture above the actual food at restaurants.

So, even if Be Our Guest serves ordinary, eatable or average items then I am still overall quite satisfied.
