BRAND NEW Disney Stores opening this Fall!!

I currently live in Tampa, and just found out that The Disney Store will be unveiling a NEW concept store this Fall in town. :sohappy: I was so disapointed when the older stores all seemed to close. Sometimes going to The Disney Store is the closest thing a lot of us can get to actually being in the parks. They are holding open casting calls Tuesday, and I plan on bringing my resume!! I have been looking for a job that really suits me for some time now, and it has always been a dream of mine to work for Disney in some way. I am hoping that I can WOW them and land a full-time position in the new store. Any advice for a perspective employee? Any thoughts about the new stores? Its supposed to be an extremely interactive store with great technology. Im so excited about this opportunity!!

What mall is going to have the "new" Disney Store? Countryside and Citrus Park still have Disney Stores in them that I know of off-hand.

More than 20 new and remodeled Disney Store locations are slated to open this year in premier retail centers throughout the United States. North American locations have been confirmed for Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York; Santa Monica Place in Santa Monica, California; International Plaza in Tampa, Florida; Stockton St. in San Francisco, CA; and Fashion Valley in San Diego, CA.

The Disney Store at International Plaza in Tampa, Fla. will be nearest to Orlando and the Walt Disney World Resort.​

Its going to open at the International Plaza in Tampa sometime in the Fall. They havent set an exact date yet for debut.

Yeah just found that thanks to google. International, hu? Seems such a posh mall to have a Disney store, but hey, why not? Gotta do something special though there to fit in with Tiffany's etc.

According to TheDisneyBlog, the first of the new Disney Stores has just recently opened. Here's the article complete with pictures.

I really like it! Early concepts wanted for a more theme park-like experience, and I think it shows a little bit. Lots of screens, interactive experiences, and thematic touches - looks they'll be a fun place to just walk around even if you don't intend on buying anything. I can't wait to visit one for myself.

It should be noted that these will be signature stores that will be scattered around the US and NOT in every current Disney Store location.
