Bounce Backs

Hi all. :)

Can anybody explain to me the concept of booking a "bounce back trip" while currently being on a trip? I'll be at WDW in June 2016 and am considering booking my trip for 2017 while I'm there. What benefits are usually gained by doing this?

Thanks in advance!

Usually it entails an offer via an in room flyer for you to book another WDW vacation at a discount before you leave your current visit. It will have date and hotel restrictions usually.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
You usually get a room discount or some other type of offer like free dining if you book another trip while you are there for the dates offered.
Call from your room phone even if there is no actual offer in a packet in your room. They don't always put an offer in your packet but many have still been able to book a bounce back offer without an actual offer in their room. You can book one up until 10pm eastern on your check out day. ;)

The benefit is that you'll get some kind of special offer/promotional rate a year in advance, instead of waiting for Disney to release their specials to the general public a few months before the actual trip. If you have very specific travel dates, like to book flights early, or just want to start the countdown very early, this allows you to already have a real plan in place instead of sweating it out less than three months until your trip.

Also, you can change dates/resort of your bounceback offer after booking when you return home, as long as what you want falls within the parameters of the offer and is available. :)

I have tried many times to get a bounce back but they wanted me to use it by the end of the same year (ie, we visited in August but they wanted us to use it before Christmas) If they want to offer something people might actually be able to use, they should make it one year from when you stay, not just within the same calendar year.

That's so weird, because we've always been going in September for the past few years and our offers are always for around the same time the next year. Definitely agree that that type of turnaround time wouldn't work for a lot of people.

I think it depends on when the bounceback promotion is opened up in the next calendar year. That is, they'll not offer the BB for June of 2017 because that's too far out. I was able to use the BB for this coming April and we stay in Disney last November.

Is the "deal" that you get from bounce back better than what's announced later? If there is a better deal announced after you bounce-back can you change to the better deal?

Yes, the bounce back is usually 5-10% higher on room discounts, with more resorts included than general public offers. The free dining offer period is usually the same, but with most resorts included (not just selected resorts.)

Like any offer, you can change if a better deal comes along pending availability for your resort and dates.
