Bounce backs?

Are these typically a good deal? I got one once and never really paid attention to it.

Better than the PIN codes? I get those ALL the time for some reason.

Bounce back room offers are usually 5-10% higher than a regular room discount offer. Sometimes the bounce back offer is free dining. Always pays to seek out the bounce back offer.

I had a bounce back from January booked for this Sept at the YC.. I received %30 off for bounce back and the room only discounts that just came out today were for %30 off at the YC. However when I just got through to add another night to my Sept trip with the new room only discount for the extra night I was told only Club level was available?!!! Glad I did the bounce back to at least get one of the discounts offered. If you know you are coming back I would book it. You can cancel a room up to the night before I believe.

Not all room categories are offered with discounts. This has happened to me in the past when I have tried to add a night to an existing discounted reservation and was told that was not an option as that view was "sold out." To get around this, I booked a new reservation for the one night under the discount available and asked if we could remain in our same room at check-in. Worked twice.

You can cancel your reservation up to FIVE days prior without losing your deposit.

Yeah the room category was offered but i guess not to many rooms in that category were available. But I like your idea the club level room will be less than the rack rate I have now. I just booked the 1 night for club level. It is the last night of our trip hopefully they wont make up move

They might allow you to stay in your room and give you club level lounge privileges on your final night...that would be the best of both!

Once we added a separate night to our WL stay. We were booked woods view but the additional night was courtyard view (an upgrade). We asked to stay in our woods view room for the added night and were able to...and when I got our bill at check out, saw that we had been credited money for "downgrading" our last night!

I have never been able to take advantage of the bounce back. I usually go in the summer, and by then the offer is only good through Dec. 31st of the same year. Too soon. If they would let you bounce back within a year of your current trip, that would be better.

We happened to go in Jan so we could go again in Sept it worked out but this is the first time I ever used a bounce back I have always gotten a room only discount

If you are going back the next year then I would say to use it. You can always re-book later using a better discount if one comes along.

A bounce back offer is really the only known long term discount other than a AAA discount. Any other discount is offered at relatively short notice to attempt to fill up empty rooms. The bounce back serves to lock you in while you are there and are enjoying it so you don't think about going elsewhere.

A bounce back may or may not be better than a PIN code or a general public discount. It all depends on what exactly WDW is trying to do at a given time. If you want to return, and the bounce back is offered, no reason not to book it. Then you know you will pay that price instead of rack rates. The only possible downside is that you may not get a PIN as they already have your money, and your booking may be the one that deems a particular resort/room type/date not needed for a general public discount. If you must have a certain room type/resort/date, then jump on a bounce back. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. By waiting you may not get anything better.

If you're planning on going back, and you have the bandwidth to book while you're there, it's well worth it. The discounts are almost always at least as good as those that come around months down the line for your desired dates, usually better, and you get to reserve well before those discounts are anywhere near available. It's good for the savings, but it's also good for the peace of mind in knowing that you already have the bedrock of your next trip squared away.

The last few times we've gone, the bounceback has either been free dining (which we just don't care about) or we weren't sure about our plans far enough out to buy into a return trip. We have taken advantage of the deal before, though, and I'm sure we will again.

The bounceback available in September was free dining for this fall, which was released to everyone, but we were able to book French quarter which wasn't available to everyone!

Also, even if you don't get the flyer or the advertisement in the little book Disney gives you at check in, you should always call reservations while you're at the resort and ask if there's a bounce back, sometimes it's as high as 40% off (usually at the deluxe level).
