Bounce Back from "home"

My friend just returned from Disney but forgot to book the bounce back offer. I let her know that she missed her chance but then she posed an interesting question...

She wondered if she book a reservation at the camp grounds with online check in. Would disney even know that she wasn't actually there? Could she then call the number and book the bounce back.. I wasn't sure though. I know people do this for FP+ and ADRS but bounce backs are a whole different ball game.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
No you have to call from your room phone to qualify normally. And even if you could do this NO it's not right. Lol She just needs to make sure in the next trip to call the number from her room while there even if no pamphlet is left in the room with an offer. :)

I know! I give her points for creativity... People have found ways to get free magic bands, early adrs access & fastpasses, and now possibly scamming the bounce back offer LOL.

She says she is still gonna try.. *shrugs* some people gotta live & learn I guess

Yeah some are hard headed and think they can get around the system, and if they succeed then to them it's okay and they keep doing it. No judging at all but it is annoying. Lol :cat:

I didn't have to use my room phone to book my last bounce back offer..

Yes I know you can but most call the extension from the room phone, but yes while on your trip you call call the regular reservation line as well. Sorry I didn't add/clarify that. Lol ;)

The bounce back offer could not be booked until the first day of her stay, even if she "checks in" online at 60 days. So even if she doesn't show up, she will be charged for that day since resort stays need to be canceled 5 days prior to arrival or deposit is forfeited.

And if she cancels the reservation, no bounce back.

I am sure Disney can tell if you don't show up, since there would be no MagicBand activity.

I dont know if she did it yet it. But I believe she was perfectly fine losing the money for one night since it would saves her more in the long run.
In my mind though, I have to wonder if disney would even care if people booked rooms for 1-2 nights and didn't show.:cautious:

Disney or anywhere won't care because they get paid for the room if there is a no show. BUT that takes away availability for another family that may have wanted to book that particular room and it could be sold out for those dates etc. So that is also wrong (again not judging but annoyed! Lol) if you have no intention of showing up and get away with booking a bounce back offer in that sneaky way. :cautious::bored:

One year we booked our bounce back from the airport. You have to make the reservation before midnight of your last day. Also can change you day ticket into annual pass and get full credit for the days used. We did this so our bounce back we had the annual pass. It cost less to get into the park for the bounce back trip.

I'm pretty sure she was willing to lose the money for that night.

I read, on another message board, that people book camp sites for certain perks, and never actually stay in them. I was flabbergasted.
Things like this apparently happen, but then everyone wants to complain when something gets taken away. Maybe if people didn't try and find anyway around the system..maybe then we could all have nice things ;)

Skirting the system is a way of life for some people and we all pay in the end. It drives me crazy. I hate to say it but if she does try it I hope she loses the money for the campsite and still can't book the bounce back. If this does start happening the bounce back will eventually disappear.
