Both parks - one day?

I don't want to do everything in IOA, but would like to do one or two rides and look around. Is it possible to see both parks in one day?

If the crowd thing is an issue - I will be there during the first two weeks of May.

yeh :) get there early enough and it will be fine (park opening) and stay till about 6, i got universal studios done by 1 :) but i dont normally go to shows or stop for breaks!

What rides doo you plan to do? If you were to choose four i would do:

pluto's bilge rat barges
dudley do rights ripsaw falls
the hulk
and spiderman.

duelling dragons is really over - rated tbh but thats your call. Get the front of line pass its about $15 per ticket (you will need one for each park) if you book in advance.... if you go mid week you will have no problems :)

Yea, you should be fine. I've gone by myself before and done both parks in 5 or 6 hours. I dk how many are in your party, but you should be fine fitting both in in a day.

Thanks for the advice. Any ideas what it would cost for both in one day? I have looked around and found the single price, but can't seem to find a ticket that covers both parks for one day.

If you going from the uk (im guessing you are judging by your profile) you could get the orlando flexiticket. Which will allow you to do both parks, and busch gardens (you jump on a shuttle from seaworld or premium outlets near disney)

the details are on this page here.... sorry i cant be of much more help :( but the 2 day ticket is probably the safest bet... and i have a hunch that kids go free

Have fun :)

Heading for the great escape.
We make use of Express access and can do both parks in a day, but we do them twice :) . Id save the water rides at IOA till last, or take a change of clothes.

IMHO DuelingDragons is a great coaster. I wouldnt waste my time and money on Busch gardens, a few good coasters in a dive of a park.

yes people do it all the time, then they wonder why they didn't really feel immersed and have a great time. So yes, you can hit the main rides all in one day but if you do so you'll be missing some wonderful things like the horror show in USF, stopping and watching the Blues Brothers, and really just taking the time to get immersed in the theming of Islands.

blue is just far too 'jolty' for me - i like nemesis and nemesis inferno so its not the type of roller coaster (imo they are more intense anyways....), i just feel rather bruised when i get off it :o

sheikra is worth the journey - and kumba is ace too :king: and rhino rally is a good ride too  and it has a bridge... that moves and stuff (when it aint broken :hammer: )

but yes the express passes are well worth it :D

If you can handle thrill rides , you'll absolutely love I of A .The Hulk roller coaster and Dr. Doom fearfall are a little daunting , but you're very well strapped in , so you feal safe. You could probably do both parks in one day , but it would be rather rushed , dependent on how long the queues are , and whether or not you want to go on rides more than once.

Incidentally , I went to WDW last year from May 1st - May 11th ; the crowds were really , really light . At every park we went to , the first hour or so after opening , you could pretty much walk onto any ride with only a 5 minute wait at most . The only exception was Saorin , which always had a long wait - if you want to go on that , you really need to get a fast pass in the morning

Since you're going to do both parks in one day, I'd recommend you visit USF/IOA on a Tue, Wed, or Thursday. You should have no problem seeing both parks during these days within the two weeks you are in here.

I would recommend you do IOA in the morning though and head there first thing as many of the rides there build up huge queues as the day goes on. The Hulk, Spiderman and Popeye can all generate queues of 45 minutes to an hour or greater by lunchtime during busy periods (school holidays especially). Plus there are a number of inside rides and shows at Universal so you can cool off.

Thanks everybody. Planning to try this early in the trip, so that if I find I don't have time, or want to ride something again, I've got time for another visit.

I am going to WDW July 1 to July 7. Want to go to Universal/IOA for one day. What day do you all think would be the best for crowds? I know that it will be busy that week, I am going to get the express pass. Ideas????

You might want to do Universal/IOA on 4th of July because Disney becomes packed beyond belief. They usually close Magic Kingdom at like 11am because it gets so packed so Universal might be a better choice for crowds. You can watch the fireworks from a-top the parking garage and see them from both parks and Citywalk, as well as Sea World and downtown Orlando.

Definitely buy Express Pass if you go this week.

Thanks for the tip. I made reservations at Cyrstal Palace at the Magic Kingdom on the forth. If the park close's that day, would i be able to get into the park due to having reservations?

I don't see why you wouldn't be. If you have dinner reservations and all.
