Finally booking this year's trip since we weren't planning on going sue to some recent medical issues. So...there are 5 of us and we were planning on arriving the 5th of Sept - the 9th of Sept. This was the original plan:
5th-. Check in around 4(7 hr drive in), pool, dinner at a resort
6- MK
7-HS
8-MK
9- Check out
It's shorter than we would normally do but we wanted to cut back on the budget a little to do some home inprovements (ugh adulting). However looking at park hrs the 2 days we are at MK are (I assume) mnsshp bc park closes at 6. I wanted to have a late night without having to do the party so...now we are driving half way on Tuesday night...the rest of the way wed so we can do mk that night until 11, HS the next day, and MK again. I hate assuming the party are those nights and changing our plan but it saves us a little money bc one night we will be off property but we still get 3 full park days.
I do like the idea of hitting the parks during week days and getting back home on a Saturday. We don't do park hoppers Soni figured this was probably the best option. Any other suggestions??

We aren't going to go this year...with a short trip and 2 little ones they really enjoy MK and are so excited about TSL opening. Truth be told they are more in to Toy Story, monsters inc. etc. Those are the Disney movies they grew up on. They have since learned to love the classics but toy story holds a special place for us!!

I think this looks solid! We usually go during this time frame and have experienced good luck with crowds. We don't park hop either, and we're just two adults. It can be exhausting and time-consuming. Make sure you make your ADRs and FP+ reservations to maximize your park time and fun!

We usually go in October so switching to September made me a little nervous but I think it's gonna work out. One good thing about having kids is we don't have to get fast passes for any big rides...so we usually end up getting the passes we want.

All star music family suites. My husband it such an on property snob and then off site stuff just wasn't doing it for him. And truly when we added resort fees, parking (at the hotel and or park) etc...it really wasn't much cheaper because my step daughter decided she did want to go so off property we would have had to do a suite as well. We just really like the convenience of on property!! Maybe one day we will stay off property bit not this time lol!
