Booking though Expedia

My family booked our WDW Christmas vacation through Expedia, and now I'm starting to think this wasn't such a good idea.

I just found out that Expedia customers cannot get the Disney dining plan no matter what -- even if you are staying at a Disney Resort all week and bought a 7-day Park Hopper pass. This was extremely disappointing to me and now I'm starting to wonder about what other problems I'm going to run into.

For instance, I was told that we could still use the Magical Express service. However, when I entered our flight information on the Magical Express website the only Hotel confirmation number I had was from Expedia. Will Disney's system still recognize this as a valid hotel reservation or will it dump all our information since it can't recognize an Expedia confirmation number?

Also, we're travelling with extended family members and want their room adjacent to ours. When they booked their room (through the Disney website) they requested a room connected to ours. Will Diseny still be able to give us connecting rooms even though we didn't book our rooms together or even with the same company (we booked through Expedia, they booked through Disney)?

Lastly, if anyone else has booked a Disney vacation through Expedia, are there any other potential problems that we could run into or that I should be aware of? Thanks!

If your this worried about it, can you cancel with expedia and rebook with WDW? Just for the sake of peace of mind, I think I would. Nothing like worrying about the most magical vacation all year and not being able to enjoy the *little* things that go along with planning. :veryconfu JMO though. :)

I tried to cancel my Disney room/tickets with Expedia. They were going to charge me a $25 cancellation fee to cancel my room, which I was willing to pay, but my tickets can't be cancelled or transferred. :(

I booked last year with Expedia. I flew Virgin direct from London to Orlando and stayed at Pop Century for two weeks in early December.

I filled in my details on the main Disney Magical Express website (including my Virgin flight numbers) after booking the holiday with Expedia and (to my surprise) my luggage tags etc arrived in the post a few weeks later.

Everything went totally smoothly with Magical Express from the Airport to Pop Century, and back again at the end of the holiday.

I booked my trip through Expedia. I've booked through Expedia before when I went to Vegas. We had a great room, with a fantastic view. No problems. I'm hoping our trip to Orlando will be the same.

I've never had any problems using Expedia. Maybe just call the hotel right away to confirm that everything will be okay and you can do the things you want to do.

Good luck!

I went throught the same thing last Christmas. The wife and I honeymooned in Disney and used expedia to book our vacation. After booking it, I was all stressed out and worried we would run into problems, but everything went smooth. Magical Express went perfect. The only weird thing about Magical Express was they booked 4 people instead of two. It was cool because the cast members joked about the other two bookings were for the future children. We got the room we wanted (in the AKL) and our tickets were waiting for us. Our flight even got canceled and we had to change our arrival date and expedia worked with us no charge. The only issue was the dining plan. There were no problems, so rest easy.

On the room request, I would keep all the reservations as is, but call the hotel directly to detail your request. I would also call again a few days before you are about to leave to confirm. That always worked for us that we get our request when we keep in contact with the hotel directly.
