Booking stay with Good Neighbors hotel vs. Separate

Hi All! So I'm going to California in March as a college graduation gift and I'm planning on devoting two full days to Disneyland. I checked on their website and they offered hotel packages with their "Good Neighbor Hotels". However, when breaking down the cost it is MUCH more expensive to book the hotel package with Disney than to just book the same hotel and buy the park tickets separately. I was wondering if anyone has booked the Good Neighbors hotel through Disney and know the benefits of buying it with them/why it is so much more expensive than doing it separately? Thanks in advance!

I don't think there's any advantage - it's more expensive because you're doing it through Disney and they can charge more. You should definitely book the hotel on its own and buy your tickets separately.

There are inclusions when booking a Disneyland package with Disney:

- Magic Morning admission
- Disneyland Photo Memory† - One (1) 5"x7" Disney PhotoPass™ Service or selected Attraction photo of your choice (one per package).
- EXCLUSIVE! Walt Disney Travel Company collectible pin, lanyard, and luggage tag (one per person).
- Walt Disney Travel Savings Card - A special card offering savings and values at many participating dining and merchandise locations throughout the Disneyland Resort. (one card per package; non-transferable and void if sold)
- ESPN Zone® - Get a burger and a $10 ESPN Zone Game Card for $15††. Enjoy the ultimate sports viewing, dining and entertainment experience at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney District.

There are other travel options that can be added to the package too, such as airfare, travel insurance, car rental or shuttle transfers, etc.

Yes, you can piece all of this together yourself if you wish, and pricing may be better. Whether it is worth it is up to you.

If you book separate do you still get the Magic morning?
And
Are you really limited to just one Magic Morning for the whole trip? If I book a 5 day and it says I'm entitle to just one Magic Morning but there are a few Magic Mornings in my date span, do they really keep track that I used my one?

Magic Morning is available to anyone who purchases a 3 day ticket, whether they book a package or stay at a hotel or whatever:

The SoCal CityPass (an excellent bargain!) also offers one Magic Morning day. And yeah, they know if/when you used your Magic Morning benefit and you can't use it twice. http://www.citypass.com/southern-California

As for hotels, just go on Expedia and price out some options, then check on Yelp or Tripadvisor or the threads here to make sure you are picking a good one. It's much cheaper than going through Walt Disney Travel Company.
