I am looking at airfare for my Oct trip and found an awsome rate on Travelocity. I am a bit leary of booking through them because they don't guarantee their prices. has anyone else booked with them? What do you think?
Thanks in advance!

I had a problem once with a flight booked through Travelocity, and I know what they mean with their price garanty thing.

I bought a flight on a tuesday afternoon, and on the following day, I receved a phone call from them telling me the price had changed to 75$ more than it was. They then asked me if I still wanted the ticket or not. I refused. They told me that they buy the tickets not when we buy them online, but later ar night so sometimes the price changes.

I finally ended up on expedia.com, and got a diferent flight for a cheaper price.

I only book via the airlines' website or via a travel agent. if the price goes down, which it often does, I can get a refund for the difference or if I have to cancel, I can do it via the website. Read the fine print on any website such as Expedia, Travelocity or Priceline. Many things are listed there that you will not see unless you look really hard.
I usually fly Southwest. Their policies are the most liberal of any I have seen anywhere. IE: no charge to change flights (only charged the difference if the fare goes up or credited the difference if the fare goes down), very helpful Customer service, and list goes on. Often, if you see a cheap fare listed on sites like Expedia, you can go to the airline's website and find the same one there. I am of the opinion that I don't need a service like that and pay them since I am capapble of booking online all by myself. If I can do it, anyone can. :)

You were right Gail. I looked on Sun at the Delta site and didn't find the cheaper rate and then looked last night and there it was! I am going to book through the airline instead. I just feel better about that. I too use Southwest for almost all of my fights but this trip we are under some time constrants and the times that Southwest leaves are not good for us. Thank for your input gang! Have a good day!!

I'll check expedia/travelocity/orbitz to see which airline has the lowest fare. Then I go to that airline's website, and book the fare. Expedia/Travelocity/Orbitz (etc) charge you a "service fee" to book through them, usually $5 or so.

Same thing with hotels. I'll check hotels.com to see what the prices are, where the hotel is etc, but I'll book the hotel directly.

Good Luck!
