Booking ADRs Online - What's wrong ???

Further to my two previous posts on the topic of Online ADRs - I now think that I've encountered yet another problem.

I have dinner reservations at The Rose and Crown. Brilliant. When I booked I accepted the latest dining time available for our party size to coincide with Illuminations. I've just been into the online system and found a reservation available at a slightly later time. I can't book it as the system advises that I already have a booking during this period and asks whether I want to cancel the already made booking.
With the way that the system has been playing up recently I don't want to cancel my original booking until I have confirmed the new one, which the system won't let me do.
Is there any way around this without ringing Disney Dining yet again

They do that, of course, to prevent people from double-booking which takes away an ADR from someone else. Is the time difference really that much to consider changing it?

But with a credit card attached to the booking at $10 a person for a no show, its in my interest to cancel

Unfortunately yes.
If the new time is still showing up as available, it takes less than a minute to cancel the first, and then grab the second. Just have two browser windows open and logged in at the same time to MDE. Click cancel on one, then when it is confirmed, click book on the other window. You should be OK doing it this way. Good luck!!

That's the theory. However, since my 180 day +10 window opened on Friday, I have been unable to make a single online reservation. I can search for the restaurant, input the date, time and party number and search. If I get times of availablity I can click on one of the times only to be told that Disney can't search at this time - hence my reluctance to cancel before the new booking is in place

Are you logged into your MDE account at the time? Are you then on the itinerary screen for that day, and then select Add Plans - Make a Dining Reservation, or are you simply selecting Things To Do - Make Reservations under Dining?

Yes, thus allowing me the +10 days

This could be where I'm going wrong - I'll try the Itinerary / Add plans method and report back in a couple of minutes
"We're sorry, there is a problem searching for reservations at this time."

Still can't get a single thing booked online
