Booked Trip with AP now AP is expired. Is this OK?

I booked my upcoming trip using the AP discount and staying on-property. In the time between booking and the trip my AP has expired. I plan to purchase a new AP when I arrive (actually I was thinking toward the end of my trip).

Will this be a problem when I check in at the hotel? I booked room only and it is paid for. Just wondering if they check for AP at check in time as I can't recall (even though I was there in October...).

It can be. If they ask to see your AP at check in you will need to show them an active AP before you check out or you will be billed rack rate.

So I should be good then. I'm planning to get another on this trip, it just didn't make sense with future trip timing to renew.
