BOG lunch FP+

What's the latest word on when those FP+ are opening up for resort guests? I got my family in to dinner, 8:45 on Sept.8, which, even with a midday break sounds painful, so I'm stalking the lunch FP+ website hoping to snag that and cancel dinner, so we can use our TS dining credit that morning at CP before park opening. I've read anywhere from 30-60 days out, and not consistent from guest to guest... does this sound about right?

Pretty much.

There for a while, they seemed to be opening them up one day at a time, from my observations. I would start watching at 60 days out and just be prepared to check about once a day until you see them open up.

I received the email invite at 30 days as did the family that is going to meet us there.

A lot of people are able to log in and book it before they get that email, though. Now that word is getting out about this opportunity, I'd hate for someone to not get a time because they were waiting on an email, especially since Disney may very well decide those emails are unnecessary by then.

We also had 8:45 for dinner, but I kept checking and, about two months later, I finally lucked-up and got one at 4:20.

I originally got ours by using the link in the story about fastpass opening to all guests on this site. However, I tried it many times since to get a ressie for our June trip with no luck. When they did send the email for our May trip, I went ahead and tried to get a second lunch, but it would keep bringing up the day I already had with no other choices. I try regularly for June just in case I don't get an email for our June trip.

When is your June trip?

Heck, I'd rather have 8:45 for dinner than the 6:05 we snagged on the fly... lol.

I can't imagine eating dinner at 4:20. Is that a more kid-friendly dinner time?
The youngest in our party is 18, so it's not for kids. We like to eat early, so we can work off the calories before bedtime. We are calorie conscience, but when in Disney, we eat whatever we want, so eating early is one way to not feel so bad about eating so many calories.

Gotcha.

That's a more me-friendly dinner time :joyfull: I like to have an early dinner in WDW, then snacks later in the evening.

Lol. Makes sense.

DH and I just generally like to eat later meals anyway... when we don't have to be up at a particular time, we do breakfast around 9, lunch at 1 at the earliest, and dinner is usually closer to 8, with a snack or two throughout the day... so that 6:05 time is going to seriously cramp our style lol.

Of course, DH and I will almost certainly share a meal at most, if not all, of our sit-down dinners, so it's not like we'll be rolling around MK feeling like we just had Thanksgiving dinner.

I have a split stay booked for next month, and I got two separate invitations 30 days out. The invite for my reservation starting 5/14 came on 4/16, and for the one starting 5/18 it came yesterday (4/20).

However...I'm only interested in BoG for the second part of the trip, and nothing is available for any of my 3 MK days. There's a few slots available later in the week, but I'll be back in NJ . So: even if you get the invite, there's not necessarily availability!

Exactly.

I was able to book mine without ever getting the invite. That's why I'm encouraging the OP to not wait until the email arrives.

I never knew you could book it on your own until after I received the invite! You're giving very good advice, cw1982. It's kind of a joke to send out "special" invitations when there's very little or no availability.

Luckily, I can take it or leave it. I was never trying for an ADR. I'd like to see the castle interior one day, but my 4 yo is terrified of the Beast. I'm not even sure I could have convinced him the Beast's not home at lunchtime :).

Aw! LOL...

Actually, the allure of BoG for us is moreso that we're there for the week after our anniversary, and that just seems like a really cool place to celebrate ;)

I'm still kinda hoping for a later ADR so that we can get out of dinner just in time to hit a ride or two and then enjoy Wishes before heading back to the hotel for a late night swim... but if not, we may end up hopping back over to Epcot to do whatever we don't get done during the day. Either way, I'm excited because I think that's going to be a fun day!

I hope it works out for you! I'm stalking MDE for a few ADR tweaks myself. Then we're going to get to WDW and have great times, and neither one of us will even remember all these changes we thought would make our trips so much better ;). But for now, it's half the fun! And happy early anniversary!
