Bob Iger Spends His Saturday at Disneyland

I was up early this morning and needed a jolt of Christmas Cheer, so I went to Disneyland for breakfast on Main Street USA and a stroll through the park. I'll say it again, Disneyland in the mid 2010's truly sparkles and shines, but especially at Christmastime. The park was already VERY busy by mid-morning as I was leaving (with giant hordes still pouring into the Esplanade), but I spotted someone who looked familiar in the sea of people.

Bob Iger was wandering around with Disneyland President Michael Colglazier. Not to sound creepy, but I watched from a safe distance as they wandered out of Adventureland and towards the Town Square. Michael was chatting him up and putting on a perky little show, as any good executive knows how to do when the Chairman & CEO arrives at your office for a goodwill tour. Bob was stoic as always and just sort of nodding and playing along with Michael's Saturday Fun Day Tour.

Not much point to this post, and Bob Iger is spotted at Disneyland several times per year, unlike the frenzy that can ensue when he makes his once-per-year and tightly scripted visit to WDW. But it's always interesting to see him in Disneyland wandering around.

Again, it was already VERY busy at Disneyland this morning, and Bob and Michael were fighting against the crowds with everyone else. It's probably a good thing for Bob to see Disneyland on a busy Saturday.

Was Bob always stoic when ever he visits WDW and Disneyland? Because I wonder if Michael Eisner was like this minus his visits to Epcot in the 80's.

Honestly if I were the CEO of Disney I'd probably spend most of my time at DL exploring the places and things that most people never do - have lunch in the tip top tower of Sleeping Beauty Castle, help Tinkerbell with her launch from the Matterhorn, pilot a Monorail, watch maintenance engineers in the mechanical basement under the stage that operates Abe Lincoln, skip across the collapsing bridge in Indiana Jones, pretend to be an AA figure in the HM and scare people, spend the night in the Dream Suite... you get the idea. I'd probably never actually ride anything.
