Boat between WL and Contemporary?

Do these boats run all day long? I know they run in the morning. I need to get from WL to CR around 1:00PM. Will the boats still be running at that time? Also, on the way back from CR, does the boat go to Fort Wilderness before coming back to WL?

Thanks.

The launch between the WL and the Contemporary runs all day long though you may have to wait, just like any other mode of transportation. I don't think it goes over to FW (but maybe I've just never seen that trip) we've only ever taken it between WL & Contemp , but you can just switch boats at the WL dock and head on over to FW if that is what you want.

We took it last February from Fort Wilderness to the Contemprary around noon, so I imagine it's still the same.

So I guess I did miss that run

I wonder if it's the same loop as the larger boat or 2 different ones (WL to Contemp & FW to Contemp)?

I really don't know about that - we just got on the first boat that came along. We had done the Segway tour, then had breakfast/lunch, and figured we'd just go do some exploring.

There are two sides to the dock at WL. If I remember right, one does a loop which will take you to FW, Contemporary and back to WL (it may go to MK too but I forget...). The other boat just goes between WL and MK.

We have stayed at the WL over 10 times and have never had just a WL/MK boat. It's always WL,FW, MK (in one order or the other) and back again (that is the larger of the 2 boats). The smaller boat that leaves from the Contemporary side of the dock has only gone there and back, but as Nemo said earlier it does a FW to Contemp run as well.

When was the last time you were there? The past two times (5/09 and 9/09) we've stayed there, the boat only goes to MK/WL or Contemporary/FW/WL. This was a change made last year to be more efficient and has worked well IMO. Also they have both large and small boats running now to MK from WL. That can be a little bit of a hassel if you have a stroller or 2 as you have to break them down if you're on the small boat.

This has been our experience as well. My only other observation would be that we are usually there in non summer/non high volume times so I would imagine that the system changes according to guest volume.

Huh?

The 2 times we've stayed at the WL (December 2007, January 2009), the boat from WL went directly to the MK.

9/09 hasn't happened yet

Last trip was Spring Break/Easter of 2007 (VERY busy) so no, I have not been there since the new route was established.

Got home last night from 5 nights at the WL. :king:

The WL-FW-Contemporary launch starts at 6:45 am and ends at 11:30 pm. In the morning, the route is WL-Contemporary-FW. At 3 pm the route switches and is then WL-FW-Contemporary. HTH.

It does - Thank you!

You're welcome!

Thought of some more helpful WL transportation hints. The WL-FW-Contemporary launch is the blue flag boat, and it is always the small boat. The WL-MK boat is the red flag boat, and there are 2: one large (strollers do not have to be folded up) and one small (strollers do have to be folded up). The green flag boat is FW-MK. There is also an MK-WL bus, which is actually faster (but far less scenic) than the boat. It does not share with any other resort. I'm trying to type this quickly while it is still fresh in my mind. Can't believe I was still there just yesterday morning. :(
